« Our trip to Yunnan wouldn‘t have been made pefect without the stay in Banyan Tree Lijiang. The credit must go to the staff, Elin. Elin is always courteous and responsive. She has been very helpful all the time. She is also very caring and always checks with us to see if we have any need. We stayed there for a couple of nights and then went to other places of Yunnan. On the very last day of our trip, we went back to stay there. Elin went out her way to prepare a better villa for us. ...

« The hardware of this hotel is good but staff are not very customer oriented except for the front office manager called Candy. She's very helpful and has very good customer service skills. Avoid rooms facing entrance, its very noisy at night because other tourists are dragging their luggage onto the stone pavement right outside the entrance . Our room came with breakfast but it is not worth getting up for. The breakfast room is not inside the hotel and is down the road in another building....

« Spend 6 days in the hotel, the staff was very kind and the location was good with free horse driving to the closer hold town. The bad point was the restaurant in the hotel, we went there to have a dinner but the food was so bad I order the meat from Australia but it was like plastic I called the waiter and they was sorry offer a free drink and ask if I want to change to another course. « i am very torn about this hotel. the surroundings of old town are excellent and hotel staff seem nice, hotel is beautidul. however if you are a foreigner and want to stay here you should not ask the english speaking staff for advice or trust anything they say.
