The staff were friendly enough, but the management of the hotel was lacking in basic planning and customer service protocols. There is no safe, and there are no bedside reading lights. After check-in they tell you “by the way” the restaurant downstairs will have noisy events “only until 1:30 or 2:00” on Friday and Saturday nights. Although street noise is to be expected for a ‘city view’ room in a huge city like Lima. the restaurant noise was terrible. Four out of five nights the doorbell rang incessantly— there was no indication that there were any night staff to deal with either late arrivals or people needing to get in without a key. The hotel had absolutely no spare towels— because it was a holiday, the ‘laundry service’ was not available for two days; when we asked again on the second day for clean/dry towels, the staff just shrugged shoulders and said sorry it is ‘a problem’. The room floor was extremely dirty (you don’t want to see the picture of our feet after walking from the shower to the bed) — this was still the case after we asked for the floor to be swept. The hotel asks that you do not flush toilet paper, but they don’t empty the toilet paper trash cans unless you specifically ask —even then it didn’t always happen. It took more than an hour and three requests to get a roll of toilet paper…. The hotel is in a good location and the building has character. Read a bunch of reviews before you book this place.
