Don't inconvenience yourself
I read in the reviews that this host likes to contact you at the last minute to let you know that the property is not available due to some sort of circumstance. We were offered another property and were in a Bind.Because we had to take it because we had dodger tickets and we had nowhere else to stay. The second property was nowhere near as nice as the first property. After our stay the host had the nerve to be rude, here is his message..."contacted you many days prior regarding the change of space of cancellation. You totally ignored my messages until the day of. Also you never inquired regarding the modalities of cancellation. Since the change was coming from me I would have offered a full refund obviously. Instead when we did the check in and walk though together you said the place was great and at no point you ever mentioned anything negative. The coffee machine was an expression like I mentioned and you even said you were not even planning on getting coffee there as you found a great spot for breakfast with your husband. Also there was indeed soap. The place was cleaned before and and after your stay and I can’t offer any type of refund and especially knowing that you seemed to have planned to ask for a refund from the get go and that is why you ignored all my messages for many days. You request is insulting. I nevertheless wish you the best in life and hope you treat homeowners better in the future. And not to mention you had 4 people there instead of 2" ALL LIES

Nice view and nice people - that’s IT!
The view of the hills is amazing! Other than that - The place was crawling with spiders. The hot plate and coffee pot in the kitchen are rusted and look as if they were salvaged from a dumpster. Bring your own tissue/paper towels/ bath cloths. Dogs are at this location. If you are taking a trip away from your children please do not book this place as children are here and very loud. There is a horrible smell in the space of mildew Although the host was nice there are small details that are left off of the description. Lots of stairs not for someone clumsy or has any foot issues. There are MULTIPLE steps inside! Tub is a claw foot raised tub with an added shower head hose. There is no hanging holder for the shower sprayer so you have to makeshift for it to stay. At 5’10 - couldn’t stand. No self check in and the apartment door is after you enter an enclosed “shared laundry” room door which by the way you can’t use. The door is not secured as it does not have a bolted lock. There is only a twist lock on the door. There were never any checkin instructions provided. You literally have to message the host for everything and not to mention there seems to be some renovations happening around the property simultaneously. This place should rent for no more than $80 per night. We’ve been hosted by many hosts and this by far was our least favorable. Hopefully VRBO reads these and makes some serious adjustments!

Shady host
Marcus canceled the last day of our 3 day stay on check in day telling us it was also too late to cancel the two days left on the 3 days. However we needed a 3 day accommodation and informed him that because he had been the one to break our contract last minute we would look elsewhere as we needed 3 full days. He refused and ghosted us and so we contacted VRBO directly. They tried to contact the host first, who would not answer. VRBO promised to refund through through their warranty program and collect directly from the host. Stay away unless you like being forced into a corner at the last minute.

Beautiful Home with Beautiful Views
I reserved this place for my elderly father who needed a local place to stay close to my small home. The location was perfect and the hosts were great. The apartment was even cuter in person. My father, who has chronic back problems, told me he slept great on the bed. Thank you!

Perfect location. Cute place.
Very cute design with vintage details. Such a beautiful view day and night. Comfortable bed. Be prepared for the steps to the place. Expect a MULTI- level inside. Not a place for old or clumsy people. Be aware there is no TV or closet space. A note to our host: you can give people more than one roll of toilet paper. You can leave out more than two towels, and one washcloth. A few essentials would be nice, like paper towels. A bathmat would be nice for stepping out of the tub.

Beautiful property, European style through and through. Magnificent view of Glendale. Not recommended for elderly or handicapped due to number of steps to access and steps within the apartment. Overall, great.

Great neighborhood, awesome view!
We enjoyed our stay here. The view from the living room window is great. We enjoyed the hilly neighborhood with winding streets. The place was clean, quiet, and comfortable. It wouldn’t be good for someone who has a problem getting up and down a lot of steps.

Great view, so so accomidations
The place was in a great location in a super cute building from the 1920s. We did have a bout 50 steps to the door which was ok, the inside is very nice the one picture of the front room with the parrot wallpaper and the fantastic large window viewing over the canyon is the highlight of the place! It had striped wall paper and curtains, a very nice touch although even my wife after a day or two noticed poor finish details and not even a matching striped curtain over the big window, kind of weird . It has a fireplace but not working, no big deal. It surprised me it didnt have a tv, small expenses (also no toaster) that would have gone a long ways to make it more comfortable… there are lots of levels and nonstandard steps down to the bedroom to the kitchen and the bathroom more than bit of a problem specially at night..also when you enter the door to go to the apartment there was a laundry room you had to go through which had an unfinished OSB floor, kind of tacky - the kitchen was very small and had only a hot plate and microwave and refrigerator (no toaster) so we toasted bagels over the hot plate. Strangely there was not even a roll of paper napkins. The kitchen was cramped but the table and chairs eating at breakfast nook and looking out over the canyon was terrific! the main problem was the bathroom I’m 6 foot three and the bathroom ceiling was about 5’11” it had one of those clawfoot tub things like in Groundhog Day cute not very practical. Basically when I took a shower I was bowing over the whole time and also strangely enough he took out two out of the three lightbulbs in the light fixture making it rather dark and dingy. Again simple cheap things to make it more comfortable: a towel rod instead of tiny hooks, a vanity with even a little space to put a brush and toothpaste, double ply toilet paper.. The bottom line is this is good for two people max but if you’re over 5 foot 10 don’t bother - especially for the price point ( all together I paid over $275/night) there are many other good options.

Host really needs to step up his game
I have stayed at dozens of vacation rentals over the last 7 years and never gave anything but raving reviews, until now. I'll start by saying what we did like about the place. The bed was very comfortable, and the place was cute with a great view of the city. However, here’s an accounting of all the things that were wrong. If it was only one or two things, I wouldn’t be writing this message, but it was the volume of issues and the extreme negligence to any kind of minimal standards that require me share them. We arrived in the evening of the 17th. There were no arrival instructions (I’ve never had a rental where we didn’t receive arrival instruction). The addresses on that street were not well marked so we had some trouble finding the correct address. I called the owner upon arrival but I had to leave messages. I tried texting the owner, but the VRBO app kept hanging when I tapped the text Icon. Then we drove around for 15 mins deciding whether or not to get a hotel room before we finally got a call from the owner. No apology, he just told us that he would be outside waiting, then he hung up before I could ask any questions. We did finally find him, were able to park on the street and get into our room. I brought up our luggage, then went to the bathroom and realized that the ceiling was only 6’ 1” high. I am just under 6’ 1” so the was less than ½ an inch from my head to the ceiling. The toiled is a 2” step up so I had to crouch to go to the bathroom. The shower is a beautiful claw bath tub that is raised about 4 or 5 inches off the flow so I have to bend over quite a lot to take a shower. I would take a bath instead, but the tub stopper doesn’t work so taking a bath was out. No where in the description does he indicate that the bathroom has such a low ceiling. Upon arrival, we found only one roll of toilet paper, 2 towel, no hand towels. In the kitchen, no paper towels and no coffee, even though he has a coffee maker. The garbage disposal broken. I called the owner, who lives on the floor immediately above the rental, and ask him to bring hand towels, paper towels, and toilet paper. I was on my own for the coffee. Two days later, he left 2 hand towels outside our door, but no toilet paper or paper towels. When I opened the top of the coffee maker I found the dried out remains of the previous guest’s coffee grounds. The place is filthy and so much more to report but I've reached the max characters for description.

Chic modern accommodations with great view
Great location in Glendale hills with an amazing view. Host was very friendly and flexible with my check in time due to my hectic schedule. Since it’s in the hills there are many steps to access the unit, so keep that in mind. Bathroom ceiling is a bit low if you are 6 ft and above. Would stay here again.

Special hillside escape
Special setup, as the photos clearly reveal. Comforts and place to hang out. Yes, on a hill, and with 36 steps from street to the unit. We wanted to cook often in the small "kitchen" so hoped it would be better equipped. Owners, upstairs, were friendly; provided a few things we needed (i.e. more towels for our 5 days/nights). Some things were being repaired while we were there (outdoor small terrace, dryer, some woodwork); no doubt will be fixed soon. Easy street parking. Good value. Thanks!

Great spot, beautiful view
My friend and I hit up LA for a short getaway. Parking was a breeze - we just needed a little help finding the spot, but property manager was on site and quick to help us out. The room was great and very spacious. The view was AMAZING — definitely one of the highlights was just looking at the beautiful scenery. We didn’t spend much time in the place, but as a little spot to rest our heads, close to city, hotspots, and beaches, we couldn’t have found a better place. Thanks for the great place, Marcus - loved meeting you!

Amazing Location, View, and Vibe
Tucked away at the top of Adams Hill, this property has an amazing view and is a short drive to downtown Glendale/Atwater/Los Feliz. The house was clean and comfortable and the owners, who live on site, are super helpful. There is a great coffee shop and market just at the bottom of the hill (about a 10 min walk, but it’s a steep hike coming back up). Because the owners live above the space it can be loud at times during the day when everyone is up and about. Overall the property was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

Adams Hill Apartment with Views
Love the decor and location. If you are a tall person (6ft +) your head will hit the bathroom ceiling so beware 😅 There are two flights of stairs to climb in order to get into the apartment (another reason the views are so good). I am a light sleeper and could hear the upstairs children and dog through the ceiling. There is an iron (yay) but could not find an ironing board. Some expected items like shampoo, soap, paper towels and coffee were not provided. This seems like a newer VRBO that needs some minor tweaks. It is a special little hideaway nonetheless.
