Lovely weekend getaway
My friends and I (2 couples and a single) stayed here for a friend's wedding on the east side of Madison. The location was very convenient, with Uber rides into town at about $10. We also enjoyed the nearby Olbrich gardens and bike paths. The house itself is charming and has all amenities. It is a bit creaky so you'll hear every footstep of your housemates during the stay, but it wasn't too annoying.

Ladies trip with fur babie
Property was exactly as listed, easy to find and had the most inviting and relaxed vibes. The home is absolutely adorable and the backyard is fantastic. I never worried that my very athletic, herding dog would be able to escape and roam the neighborhood. If your a pet mom or pet dad, you know that's always a big relief to have your fur babie happy and safe. This place is definitely a 10 out of 10 would recommend. Don't tell everyone otherwise we can't get in again, because everyone will want in on this hidden gem.

Wonderful
This was a wonderful experience. The host was very accommodating. Our stay was over Christmas, and it was nice to have a little tree. She left wonderful goodies and the house was very inviting. I would be quite happy to stay there again. Most important, I felt my furry friend, my dog was very safe. We took walks in the neighborhood and enjoyed quiet times when not visiting family. Thanks to Kate for a very enjoyable visit.

Cozy home away from home for Thanksgiving
Four of us stayed over Thanksgiving week. Kate was a great host. She left out dishes for us to use for Thanksgiving dinner, checked often to make sure we had what we needed, left us baked goodies and some potatoes/vegetables for our dinner, and gave suggestions on places to go nearby. Communication was excellent from the time we booked all the way through the stay. The fenced yard for the dogs was very helpful; Kate’s listing is by far the most dog-friendly we’ve seen on any hosting sites. The listing does not show it clearly but there is a 4 seat dining area. Kate left us an extra folding table that worked great for a larger group. Also, the bathroom in the basement is listed as a half bath but it is actually a full bath with a shower curtain door. This house would not be good for anyone with issues going up and down stairs but it was perfect for us. Very cozy and comfortable with plenty of extra towels and blankets and a fully stocked kitchen. Thank you Kate for a wonderful home away from home.

Family trip to Badger game!
We had a group of 6, ages 16 to 60, along with our dog. We all agreed.. this will be our “go to” place whenever we come back to visit. Kate our host answered every question about going to a Badger game (it was our first time).. so don’t be afraid to ask questions! We have more family in the area and the back yard was perfect for a fire that evening after the game so we could all visit ( nice quiet neighborhood and neighbors… very family friendly). Exactly what we needed after spending 8 hours downtown at the Badger game. I would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Well, my wife is looking at property in Madison following our stay. We came to town for a wedding. We loved exploring the area surrounding the VRBO on foot, and also found much to see and do in the downtown area. This house was a spectacular home base at which to recharge. It had everything we needed, and was visually pleasing with the warm lighting and wood finish. This would be a good place for entertaining a group, or for a bunch of introverts to chill out and read.

Quiet respite
We stayed here for the weekend of our daughter's wedding in Madison. It was a super busy weekend, and although we did not have a lot of time at the house, it was wonderful to be able to have it for a quiet respite. My husband had a nice nap in the outdoor "zen space", and we all enjoyed the snacks which Kate left for us. I highly recommend! Janet

Great stay in Madison for graduation weekend!
Our family was lucky enough to stay at this property for UW Madison Grad weekend-from the easy check in, spotlessly clean house and the delicious treats left by the owner we could not have been happier. Comfy beds, stocked kitchen, artistically decorated and homey feel. We especially loved the back yard, fenced in for our dog, full of bird feeders and plants, with a covered area to hang out in at night. Close to downtown Madison and the campus area for easy access to all the fun activities Madison has to offer.

Great Stay for the Family
Our group of 3 adults and our 70+ year old parents really enjoyed our stay! We were visiting family in the area and the location was very convenient to downtown Madison. The neighborhood was quiet and the yard is a great bonus hangout area. It had snowed before our arrival and Kate had the driveway and sidewalks cleared so it was very easy getting in and out. The stairs to the bedroom level are a bit steep, so it could be tricky with younger kids or anyone with mobility issues. The kitchen was well equipped to cook full meals and the living area is quite comfortable - we enjoyed picking out records to listen to. Would definitely stay here again.

Spacious house in East Side Madison
A few friends met back in town after moving away 5 years ago. This house was a great home base, close to downtown and east side as well as the airport. Dog friendly with a fenced in yard. Kitchen had all the essentials. Could have comfortably slept 6 adults.

Great Coug win in Madison
Loved staying at this house. We came in for a football weekend and thoroughly enjoyed this house. It was a $12/uber ride to campus and all of the fun things. An added bonus was our Cougs beating the Badgers. Our host was a great communicator and we felt very welcome here. Check in/check out was a breeze. The house was very clean. Beds were comfortable.

Highly recommend!
Having stayed in several VRBO homes, I can safely say that you cannot find a more meticulously cared-for property and a more generous considerate host. Beautiful cozy home and fabulous Zen back garden filled with song birds. I did take one star off location because of the proximity to the airport and regular F-35 fly-overs. They are really loud (but awesome to watch actually).

Lovely home--inside and out
Kate's home is immaculate and the bedrooms and beds were very comfortable. Her kitchen provided everything we needed and the living area is both appealing and cozy, with plenty of seating. We were able to spend time in her backyard, too, which is a summer delight! I'll definitely return when friends are in Madison from out of town. The steps are a bit steep, so not suitable for elderly or mobility-challenged people.

The property matched the description and was perfect for our family of 5. Spent a lot of time in the morning with coffee on the back patio as well as at night. Was a short drive to all the things that we needed to get to for our daughter’s graduation.

Great location and home!
We had a great visit to Madison. This home was perfect for our stay. It was in a great location for us and had everything we needed for our stay. The backyard looks amazing and I'd love to come back in the summer to enjoy this little haven. Kate was a great communicator and very attentive - she helped me out with a package I inadvertently left there and was very kind and generous to us. You will love this home!

Great dog friendly place!
Kate's place was perfect for us. The fenced backyard was so nice since we were travelling with dogs! Check in was easy, and we had everything we needed. The place was very clean, everything was labelled and easy to find, and she had lots of extra blankets and towels available. You could tell she took extra precautions due to covid, so we felt very comfortable staying there. The fresh baked treats were also a big hit! Overall we were very impressed and will be back next time we visit!

The best Short-term rental ever
I have never felt as welcomed and delighted as I was by Kate’s place. A great value. Lots of extra love. An authentic home. Prompt, clear, professional communication. Well-equipped, pleasant to be in. Great furniture, kitchen fit-out, and beds. I will be back and next time I’ll stay as long as I can. Truly a special place.

This property - the house, the yard - we’re beautiful, clean, and welcoming. It’s a short drive from great restaurants in the Atwood neighborhood and the lakes, and easy to get downtown from here. I highly recommend a stay here!

Very cute little house about 10 minutes from downtown Madison. The house is over 100 years old, so has a certain historic charm to it. We loved being able to relax with our dog for the weekend, and have easy access to all that downtown Madison has to offer.

The house was likely the most “pet-friendly” home we have stayed in but also one of the cleanest! The outdoor space is also top-notch. Place was perfect for us as we stayed for the IM Wisconsin. Close to all the events. House was very well taken care of, all amenities needed to be able to relax and enjoy our time. This home is roomy, very cute, and has a lovely backyard. There are lots of little extras that were unexpected and thoughtful items included from the home baked goods, to extra super soft blankets, coasters on bedside tables, filtered water, some basic staples and even a old fashioned rolling cooler/cart that held lots of ice and drinks for a small gathering. We really enjoyed our stay, and found Kate to be a very accommodating host. When we ran into an issue, she handled things very fairly and with kindness. We would definitely stay there again when visiting town.

Great house for a family stay
We spent a great long weekend in the Madison area and Kate's house worked perfectly for us. It is spacious and comfortable for 3 couples + a dog. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and is located conveniently near to downtown and the suburbs so getting around was a breeze for us. The best part was the fenced-in backyard that allowed us to let the dog roam around without close supervision which was a very nice break for us dog parents. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone else seeking to put up a group of friends or family members in the Madison area.

We stayed in Kate's house for 5 nights in June. It was wonderful - she was very communicative, everything was as described and we especially enjoyed all the birds coming to the feeders she had set up. Thank you for a great time Kate - we will rent your house again for our next trip to Madison.

What a great spot! Close to everything we needed. Three bedrooms each with queen beds. Plenty of room. Great kitchen. Property owner set up everything you need. Very clean. We were in the area to visit friends and see live music, which both were amazing and after covid was sooo needed. We felt safe and relaxed during our time on this property. Would definitely stay here again. (We might have to bring along an Iowa Hawkeye item to counter all the Badger stuff!! Lol. )

Parents Visit
This was a great place for my folks who were coming from out of town and needed a place to stay for quarantine before coming to our place. The owner was very communicative with me and my folks and they enjoyed there time at the home. It has a nice little patio outback that made for a good meeting place with the grand kids. The fresh baked cookies were also a nice treat. We would stay here again.

Perfect sanctuary just outside of downtown
We rented Kate’s home months ago, not knowing just what 2021 UW graduation was going to allow/ look like. This was a perfect peaceful home and yard for our small family and 2 dogs. We enjoyed Kate'scozy “ vintage” living space, vinyl record collection, and comfortable beds. Coffee in a sunny private yard was a lovely way to wake up .

The Perfect Weekend Getaway

Great Stay in Madison!
This was a great property for families. Clean, comfortable and the communication with Kate the host was great! Would be nice to come back in summer to enjoy the back yard!
