Relaxing stay

Home was well maintained and comfortable for our two small families (four adults, two girls ages 8 and 10). It was conveniently located. The management service was responsive and accessible. The pool was a lovely addition. Areas for improvement would include upgraded outdoor pool furniture--these items are showing their wear in the Florida elements. Household/housekeeping items are sparse/minimal for a family rental, and for the price, would be a welcome addition (e.g. we had to purchase additional paper towels, toilet paper for our three night stay). Note, that while many options are available, most come at an extra surcharge (e.g. heated pool, etc). While perhaps not intentional, these extra charges end up with the renter feeling 'nickel and dimed' for somewhat standard items.These complaints aside, the community is lovely, and the home perfectly comfortable for a family trip. The Keys are a lovely place to visit.

Quiet relaxation

We enjoyed meals on the back porch secluded from view with our family. The rooms were lovely and the living areas were great. We played games in the living room and enjoyed walking around the property.

Quiet oasis

The property was just as advertised. Everything was clean and beautiful. Pleanty of room for 6-8 people. The best part was the private back porch. It was too cold to swim but the pool was cute. I would recommend this rental, for sure. Hopefully we can stay again soon.

We absolutely loved this home! It was super clean, well appointed and comfortable! We love that it was in a private gated neighborhood and had easy access to get to all of the other keys! We will definitely come back!

Property Management

Location is great and it’s a very quiet neighborhood. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED that for as much as we paid to rent this place for the week that we had to go buy more toilet paper because the owner or property management team is too cheap to supply their guests more than 1 roll per bathroom. I reached out to the property manager to ask for more toilet paper and they told me to go fly a kite and reminded me it’s in the contract of the house. They also expect all linens to be cleaned when you leave otherwise they’ll charge you extra. There’s a lot of rules on what not to do otherwise they will charge you extra money. Great house and location, but we won’t stay again just for those reasons.

Excellent place to get away

It was very clean. Close to where we wanted to be. Loved having our own pool. Very peaceful. Lots of room especially for just the two of us. We would love to rent this property for the same time next year. We go every year to marathon for our anniversary.

Nice Birthday Gift

My birthday gift this year was traveling someplace I had never been, the Florida Keys. Enjoyed the Keys, an thoroughly enjoyed this vacation rental on Duck Key. It was very spacious for my wife and I; and it was great spreading out. Very nice and relaxing three days. Highly recommend the vacation home.

Great Girls Getaway Weekend Experience

We highly recommend the Salty Sanctuary for a getaway. The accommodations worked well for our party of six. The King beds were a plus since we were non couples sharing the beds. We had a few requests that came up and the management team quickly addressed our concerns. One of the highlights was the “heated” pool which was offered at no additional charge. We highly recommend this home and we would definitely reserve again when we return to Duck Key.

Our first visit to the Keys

Great property! Plenty of space for our families; the back deck was relaxing & pool was the perfect spot to cool off after a day out on the water. There are restaurants located within Duck Key as well as other great restaurants & shopping located just a short 15 minute drive to Marathon. This house is the perfect central location for activities, shopping, restaurants, & all you need to enjoy a memorable vacation!

The only negative things with the stay was that online it advertised 2 queen beds per bedroom and could sleep 6 but there were 3 king beds instead. This created somewhat of a problem. Also, the pool was dirty and did not have heat

Review of Duck Key rental

The property was not well-maintained. Upon arrival there were no toiletries at all in the house. Also went to pull in the refrigerator handle and it broke. I have rented many homes and understand that at the end of the day it’s a rental. However, there was mold on the shower curtain and the bathtub floor was dirty. I found a dead bug in the doorway upon arrival. They were really no amenities to make you feel welcome and certainly nothing special. Bare bones. In addition there are only 2 1/2 bathrooms both located on the upper floor and only a half bath on the lower floor. It’s advertised for 10 people to stay there I’m not sure how that could be possible. The upstairs master bedroom has a smaller room attached with a trundle bed. That was not advertised… It was advertised as four bedrooms. Also there are no closets and very few hangers. they only offer wall hangers for your clothing. I’ve never seen a home without closets. For the money we paid for a long weekend And then he would have been better spent at Cheeca Lodge. I would not recommend this home.

Great place!

The house is spacious and well appointed. The resort is really nice but you don’t have any access to their amenities. The pool is heated and great for kids. I was surprised that there was no grill. Also there was no beach gear available, we had to rent it elsewhere.
