Excellent place to stay to enjoy the area! The host was very quick with communication and the home is charming! It feels like you’re staying at a friends/relatives summer cabin. I loved the vintage vibe and all of the art, photographs, and antiques that permeate the home. The deck and large front yard would be fantastic for a family or group of friends. McGregor is a lovely little town with some cute shops and a great coffee cafe called The Brim. There is a train track close by so if you’re sensitive to sound that might be an issue, however, I didn’t find it a distraction. Proximity to some of the trails of Pike Peak state park is outstanding! 100 yards from the deck and your on the trails! Very cool and many of the trails are mountain bike friendly. There is also an area of the property set aside for a more outdoorsy experience with a tree lined bluff on one side, nature preserve on one side and the river on one side. Complete with picnic tables and a large fire ring. This is great place to home base while exploring The Driftless area of Iowa and Wisconsin and the Mississippi river. I would absolutely book again!

Some more cleaning done will help the house. A lot of cob webs and tape on sliding glass doors with dead bugs on tape. Four televisions in house none of them worked. A leaky pipe in basement bathroom. A lot of personal stuff in bathroom showers.
