While the house is very unique and a sight to see, the lack of attention to detail with cleanliness and upkeep is what really impacted the rating of our overall stay. The host was extremely accommodating with our check-in, but the property itself needs some attention. It was very evident that the place had not been touched or looked after in some time upon our arrival. The grass in the yard was long, and there were sliders and bugs everywhere in the house and including all over the beds. There is also a wasp nest that we did inform the host about. When we informed the host of our concerns specifically with the bugs he said it was, I quote, “impossible”. Pretty disappointed that we did not receive any apology or offer to have someone come out to clean immediately. With a bit more love and attention this could be a 5/5. Some tips for anyone looking to stay here: the bedrooms are almost all (with the exception of two) open-air and other people need to be walked through to access other rooms. Not ideal if you’re looking for any privacy. Because the bedrooms are open air it is also very hot, humid, and bright. Pack a fan and an eye mask.
