The property was nicely decorated (though evidence of damp) and clean and well located in a pretty village. Bed fine if a little hard. Bedding lovely. The problem was its description made no mention of the very low beams and doorways and a very uncomfortable kitchen and poorly described "garden". I am 5'10", my husband 6'1" and we had to duck into every room and under the central beam of the sitting room every time we needed to move around. The house gets no sun at all and feels damp and claustrophobic. The kitchen was so poorly designed (very low upper cupboards, especially over the sink) making it impossible to use the worktop or sink without banging one's head, plus low hanging light over dining table also a hazard. Felt really uncomfortable and disappointed this was not mentioned in the details or would not have chosen. Details gave impression of light and airy house with a "lovely garden with enclosed sun terrace" when in fact you have to climb steep steps to the side of the house to reach a tiny platform through overgrown weeds with a further tiny area up another dangerously overgrown and steep steps with no sun... I appreciate it is what it is (though garden could be cut back and improved without much cost...) but you do need to warn people house is not suitable for anyone over 5'4". Or anyone over a certain age or with any difficulty on their feet. or for small children. Also the reference to "onsite parking" is misleading - only when you get the directions / booking confirmation do you admit the parking is only for a very small car (and that with extreme difficulty). We feel the photos and description are completely misleading. Other problems: sofa stained, 2nd light in hall not working (not bulb), door shelf missing from fridge (and set too low, freezing our fresh greens). Would love to have been more positive but it ruined our stay and just glad we hadn't booked for a whole week.
