This was our second trip to this villa and it didn't disappoint. We love the garden and pool, and enjoyed grilling and making pizza's in the outdoor oven. The village is also wonderful and part of why we came back. It is charming and authentic. There is plenty of space in the house, which is well stocked with everything you need. The hosts are super nice and attentive. The kitchen knives are due for sharpening - but everything else was great. Hope to come back again for a 3rd visit!!
We had a great experience at this villa which ticked all the boxes. The pool, pool area, bbq area, grass areas are all perfect and the villa is sited just out of the village of Melidoni so whilst nice and quiet it was only a 5 minute wander to the centre of the village and it's amazing restaurant and chilled out small centre. The owners were very generous with their initial gifts and helpful with any needs but also allowed privacy for the party. This is certainly one villa we would want to come back and stay again at. Definitely recommend to anyone.
This property was everything we could have imagined and hoped for. The property was clean and had everything we needed. The host was friendly and easy to contact. The local area is proper authentic Greece at its finest and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Couldnât have been happier and would certainly go back.
We really enjoyed our stay at the villa. It has all you need and our welcome was great.
The little town is a 5 min walk away and has 2 nice restaurants.
Our family with 9 persons age 20 yrs to 76 yrs had a wonderful time in Villa Meltemi in the beginning of September 2024. We enjoyed our days in the garden, in the pool area and also had a BBQ night. Our son with special needs and using manual wheelchair loved the villa and the Garden, too and had no problems going around with a little assistance.
The location is perfect for exploring the other parts of the island, too.
We were very warmly welcomed and everything was smoothly organized by the owner.
I cannot impress upon people how idillic this villa is.
It is set near a very small village with peaceful, beautiful surroundings.
The villa itself has all the amenities one would require, and the inside is is fabulous condition.
There was a maid service twice a week and she did a marvelous job keeping the 5 star villa clean and today.
Highly recommend this place for anyone planning a holiday to Crete.
The villa is really beautiful with wonderful views and a great pool! Communication was great.
Our highlights were the pool, the BBQ and baking pizza and bread in the stone oven in the garden. The fresh figs, grapes and lemons from the garden were also delicious.
The closest beach is about 15 mins drive from the Villa.
We were a family of nine from the age of 11 to 76 years.
We got a warm welcome and a tour in the house and garden.
We were excited about the âKioskâ on the ground? In Denmark it is a small shopping place đ
It was a nice terrace with a pergola above - lovely.
We will at any time recommend the house to larger families- and others who want a quiet vacation in luxury
Ein wunderschönes Haus in Alleinlage. Sehr gepflegt. In der KĂŒche findet man alles was man braucht inkl. Saftpresse.
Lovely villa. Bedrooms and bathrooms were great. Wonderful large pool with sunbeds and parasols.
Kitchen had everything we needed and there was a large BBQ .
Only small suggestion, would have been nice to have more information about where to go for supermarkets (Perama), restaurants (Panormo) and best beaches (worth the drive to the south coast).
The villa was exactly as advertised and exceeded our expectations. The owner and family were extremely welcoming and helpful, as was everyone we encountered in Meldoni village which was a short walk away.
The facilities in the villa provided everything we needed. The barbecue area was a great social area as was the shaded outside terrace, with ample seating and bespoke tables.
The swimming pools were absolute gems, loved by the children especially.
The gardens were well maintained and the views of the surrounding area were spectacular.
We loved our stay at the villa and hope we can return one day.
Had a lovely stay with adults/teenagers in this great villa.
The pool/outdoor area were fabulous.
The villagers of Melodini were extremely welcoming and friendly.
Beautiful villa with a lovely garden and pool. The Melidoni village is also very interesting, with a good restaurant and interesting attractions (Reptile Park, Honey museum, Melidoni cave).
We had a brilliant week at Villa Melitta in early April. We were a group of 4 adults and 5 children from 4-9 and fitted perfectly in the house. The kids loved playing all round the gardens and would collect oranges to give us a neverending supply of delicious fresh juice. We paid to heat the pool which made it swimmable at this time of year (but still pretty chilly). We enjoyed a delicious BBQ with meat from one of the butchers in Parama.
The villa is ideally located for lots of places to visit but one unexpected highlight was Reptisland which is right next door. The kids loved being shown and handling snakes and lizards - the owner was brilliant at sharing his knowledge and love of reptiles.
I cannot say enough about this property and our experience there! My friends and I were there for a birthday getaway, and we loved our stay at the Villa Mellita. The pool was probably our favorite spot, but we had a private chef cater a meal, and the outdoor dining area was perfect, and the inside spaces gave us places to gather when it became chilly, or the bugs became too much. The air-conditioning in all of the bedrooms was a welcome relief from the heat, and it really included all the amenities we needed. We found communications once we were there to be very good, and the owners to be incredibly friendly. The village is lovely, and I cannot say enough about the people who own the businesses there, we felt like we were a part of the village by the end of the week. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in a quiet part of the island where you will be around less tourists than other spots, but can easily get to beaches, and local interest places that were recommended by all the locals. I would absolutely stay here again!
Ausstattungstechnisch ist alles da was man braucht!
This is a really nice house in a lovely village with a surprisingly large number of things to do. The house was very clean and owners very welcoming (nice welcome gifts and olive oil to take home!). The village has a lovely taverna in the square, and some interesting tourist locations right on the doorstep (caves and a small-but-fantastic reptile attraction which the kids loved). Downsides: the biggest one for us was that (in October half term) despite paying extra for the pool to be heated, it was not warm enough to be pleasant to be in for long. Also for a large house the communal indoor space is not huge, so for instance you would struggle to sit down as a large group on sofas or at the kitchen table (this is probably not a concern in summer but we were unlucky with the weather this October).
The villa was amazing, as described online and more. The pool was a great size and all bedrooms were ample sized, two with lovely balconies overlooking the pool and mountains.Plenty of space for a large family with a large terrace to enjoy drinks and mealtimes. A super BBQ and pizza oven in yet another area in the large beautiful garden provided additional space and opportunities for family enjoyment and treasured memories. The Surrounding area was picturesque and close to a very old traditional village. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. We would recommend this villa and would love to visit again. A car is recommended if you wish to visit more of Crete however there are a few small local village shops that provide essentials. Visiting the local taverna is a must as the food is excellent.
We had a wonderful stay in the Villa. The highlight was the village of Melidoni itself. The square at night with the locals was amazing. The pool was great and we enjoyed the outside grilling/pizza oven area. We ordered a fresh lamb that we grilled outside on a rotisserie with the help of the owner and locals from the village. There are many beautiful fruit trees in the garden, however nothing was really ripe yet except lemons and herbs. The hosts are kind, generous, and always available to help. The internet was not that great, but we didn't complain because we didn't really need it much. There were a lot of mosquitos and gnats that bite - so remember bug spray! My kids loved the cats in the neighborhood. You need to have a car to get around in general, but there are some nice things to do in walking distance (great Taverna, Reptisland, Melidoni Cave, Honey producer, Olive oil factory, The Cave souvenir shop, village square, local supermarkets, etc.). Bedroom 5 in the description is not accurate... there is just one queen bed. We planned for 3 teenagers to share that room, but instead had to use one of the rooms with 2 Twin beds and the owners brought an extra fold away bed (which was on the small side... not a full Twin).
We were a family of 10 - 6 adults and 4 kids. We all had a fantastic time here. The villa was ideal, spacious, comfortable, clean, with all the facilities that you'd need. A wonderful good size swimming pool too which we asked for to be heated as we visited in October. Its very close to the little village, a 2 mins walk where there was a little supermarket for basics, fresh veg, fruit and daily bread! Also there was a great little Taverna called 'Dili Dili' - local home cooked food to order within a friendly comfortable environment. The villa is set within a plantation of orange and pomegranate trees which we picked every day and made fresh juice. It's only a few miles away from Perama ( another bigger town) with Supermarkets, restaurants, bakery but it's a short drive away. We made use of the outside pizza oven and BBQ and all the various seating arrangements within the grounds. On the whole, a GREAT stay!
