You are definitely paying for being on the beach not because you are staying in a nice hotel. Starting off with the name, be aware there are TWO Sandcastle Oceanfronts in Myrtle Beach and we stood in line for 30 minutes before we found out we were at the wrong one. Our bad. When we got to the correct one the staff was not as nice as the two overwhelmed ones at the other location. They didnt welcome us, barely talked as they were checking us in, and when i asked a question to clarify where the ridiculous parking garage was located they just pointed across the street and said that one behind the tree. There were multiple. So parking not great if you have tons of bags and children and not handicap friendly if you are in a wheelchair no elevator and a block or two from the hotel. Doors to the building, lets just say you didn't need a card key to get in because they didnt shut all the way. So NOT safe for guests. Main areas (hallways) as well as rooms not the cleanest, not maintained well, and just look like you were staying at Bates Hotel. Curtians in room had holes throughout, hanging off the attachment, bugs flying around, bathroom so small only 1 person barely fits due to poor setup, and it didn't feel like I wanted to brave any of us walking barefoot on the floors in there. The coffee maker in the room had caked on black stuff of the area where the coffee would come out of. Like I said you are paying for the location not the hotel. I will say the A/C was the best!
