Steps to Endymion and Zulu Parades during Mardi Gras!
North of the noise and saturated color of the Quarter is a New Orleans neighborhood that’s perfected the art of living. “Welcome to Mid-City,” read the signs on the neutral ground. And that’s truth in advertising. It’s the kind of place where your auto mechanic invites you to a crawfish boil and a total stranger may buy you a drink at an Irish pub or a cannoli at an Italian bakery. Take the red streetcar line up Canal to the Cemeteries (Mid-City’s dead neighbors are as interesting as the live ones) or bike the new 2.6-mile-long Lafitte Greenway that stretches from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue and, conveniently, past a po’ boy shop or two – or 17 – with a sno-ball shop and a micro-brewery thrown in for good measure. Buttermilk biscuits. Live music. A bowl of Vietnamese pho. Who wouldn’t want to visit? Eat. Drink. Get up here.
If you have any questions about the neighborhood, please send us a message!
You’ll have full, private access to:
• Entire 3BR/2BA unit
• Full kitchen + living space
• Washer/dryer
• Front porch + shared backyard
★ Easy access, quiet street, and super central, couldn’t ask for better!
Mid-City has a rhythm all its own - second-line parades drifting through the neighborhood, the rumble of the Canal Streetcar a short walk away, and the kind of old-growth oak canopy that makes every stroll feel cinematic. This classic shotgun home drops you right into that world, with original architectural character and the comforts you need to settle in and stay awhile.
Living space
Tall windows run the length of the home, drawing in generous natural light that plays off the high ceilings and original details throughout. The single-level floor plan flows in true shotgun fashion - room to room to room - giving the home an open, airy feel. Ceiling fans keep the breeze moving year-round, and the combination of air conditioning and heating means you'll be comfortable no matter the season.
Sleeping arrangements
Three bedrooms are arranged along the home's classic walk-through layout, sleeping up to six guests. Each room is outfitted with a comfortable bed dressed in quality linens, plus dressers and luggage racks to keep things tidy throughout your stay.
Kitchen & dining
The newly remodeled kitchen is set up for everything from a quick breakfast to a full home-cooked meal. You'll find a stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and all the cooking basics - pots and pans, oil, salt and pepper, dishes and silverware. A coffee maker and coffee are ready for your morning routine, and extras like wine glasses, a toaster, and a baking sheet are on hand when you need them. Pull up a chair at the dining table to eat in before heading out for the day.
Bathrooms
Two full bathrooms serve the home, each stocked with the essentials - shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel, and hot water. A bathtub and hair dryer are also available.
Outdoor living
Step out onto the quaint front porch to watch the neighborhood wake up, or head to the large shared fenced backyard, where outdoor furniture and a fire pit invite you to unwind after a day out. Free street parking is available, so coming and going is easy.
The extras
A washer and dryer are in-home for longer stays. The home also includes hangers, an iron, extra pillows and blankets, and a first aid kit. For downtime, there's a TV, fast Wi-Fi, and an Ethernet connection. Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and a fire extinguisher round out the safety features. Self check-in via smart lock makes arrival seamless.
Location
Mid-City puts you within walking distance of local restaurants, bars, and the Canal Streetcar - your direct link to the French Quarter, City Park, and the Superdome. The neighborhood comes alive during New Orleans' biggest celebrations: Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, Essence Fest, the Sugar Bowl, and more. A private entrance means you come and go on your own terms.
