I'm going to give an honest opinion.
We booked a room at the Americana for two nights, from Friday to Sunday. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff seemed friendly.
The building itself could use some renovations to bring it up to date. Upon arriving at our first room, we noticed black mold growing from the soap dispenser in the shower. Also, rust on the door hinges in the bathroom. The beds were extremely firm and uncomfortable, and the room overall felt pretty mediocre. We mentioned the mold issue to Expedia, who advised us to contact the front desk about possible compensation, refunds, or a fix. Expedia refunded us $100 in credits. Also, Expedia was easy to deal with—8/10 for them—but the hotel refused any compensation. They did offer us a different room instead.
The second room was a noticeable improvement, though still not great and quite uncomfortable. The main issues were some salt stains (or something similar) on the bathroom floor and toilet. I also noticed a toenail on the floor in the bathroom. The toilet didn't flush properly the entire time—it even clogged once. We called the front desk, and they said they'd send someone up, but we never heard a knock. Fortunately, the toilet unclogged on its own.
On the positive side, the water park was decent; my kids, aged 7 and 2, absolutely loved the slides. The arcade wasn't too bad, and the Boston Pizza was good. Overall, the property could benefit from major updates to modernize it.
