Well stocked. We did only get 2 trashbags and 2 dishwasher tabs for a 4 day stay. Layout was perfect for us. Enjoyed the paddle boards and easy access to lake. The lake is small, we were able to see all of it in a hour. The fans were not enough to cool the house down. It stayed hot which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. The loft above the garage has a cooling system so we did spend time up there to cool off. The neighborhood is quiet. Lots of wildlife viewing.
In the booking process, the host asked us to make accommodations for their purpose, to benefit them, not me, which I agreed to. Required checkout was 10 AM, but because we had a family breakfast planned at a restaurant, to strictly meet that we needed to check out by 7:30 AM the morning after a wedding reception with lots of luggage and seven people. I requested from the host to allow us to return to pick up our luggage after breakfast by 12 noon but they declined, stating such request requires 48 hours advance notice. It was maddening that although we were willing to accommodate the hostâs request, she would not accommodate ours. TBH, the reply to our request read like an AI response. I did not think our request was unreasonable, but I did not feel like the host had customer service in mind.
The property is so beautiful and peaceful, and it's obvious someone put a lot of love into it. That said, this was not a great experience with Vacasa. Problems that should've been anticipated: Upon our arrival, dog hair on the bedding, water left in the tea pot, visible dirty spots in the bathrooms. Only 3 rolls of toilet paper in the entire house for 6 people, & only 1 garbage bag. The ceiling fans were not all operable & it was HOT. Unpredictable problems: first night in the house, there was a man prowling the property at 3:00am. He scared the crap out of my kids who were up to use the bathroom. Turns out the loft/game room is in a totally separate structure from the main house, so they had to go outside to enter the house to use the bathroom. Found out it was the maintenance guy, who decided to come by in the middle of the night? The paddle boards were missing the main fins, which made them difficult to use. Still had fun, but it was a bummer. The prop manager was great about fixing both of these issues. On our last day we had a family emergency come up. I contacted both Vacasa and the property manager about extending our stay for one night, or getting late checkout time. I didn't expect to be told yes, bc it was all very unpredictable and last minute. However, the responses I got were cold and scripted, with absolutey no willingness to work with us. I found that really disappointing/upsetting. Overall, we prolly won't stay again.
We really enjoyed our time at the cabin. The setting was restful and loved spending some time outdoors on the lake. The house was also very comfortable and well organized. We didnât spend much time at the cabin due to graduation activities but appreciated our stay very much.
The stay here was very peaceful and relaxing. We loved watching the ducks and ducklings, the geese and their goslings, and the deer meandering through the property. The house was clean, tidy, and well labeled and stocked. We wish we could have stayed longer. While overall it was a great stay, the description of beds is a bit confusing. We needed 4 beds for 5 people. There were 2 queen beds and 1 twin murphy bed each in their own bedroom. It lists a double bed but isn't clear where. It seems there are 3 twin beds in the garage loft, though without a bathroom there, no one in our party wanted to sleep there. Does the double bed listed mean the living room futon? We also had a problem with the wifi. It seemed the router was not working. We tried resetting it, but the network listed never appeared to any of our devices, nor did it work with the property's TV. We tried contacting the property manager, but never heard back. We made it work and despite those minor issues would stay again.
