Misleading Listing – Unusable Amenities & Poor ConditionWe’ve stayed in the Oneonta/Cooperstown area four times and chose this home for its size, pool, and hot tub. Unfortunately, it was our worst and most expensive experience.The home wasn’t ready at check-in; the cleaning crew stayed until after 10 PM. The pool was unusable—the heater had been shut off at the breaker, not the switch, indicating the issue was known. The hot tub didn’t work, was filthy, and the heater was also disabled.The upper bedroom was uninhabitable due to extreme heat and inadequate A/C during a week of 90F temperatures. Trash was left outside all week, attracting animals. When it rained, standing water in the basement caused strong odors and a fly infestation.We contacted the owner during and after the stay. Despite documentation and photos, most issues were denied or dismissed. A 200 refund was offered, which doesn’t reflect the nearly 8,000 cost of this stay or the loss of key amenities.We’ve never had an experience like this in the area. This home, in its current state, is not suitable for rental and lacks transparency. I recommend future renters ask detailed questions and carefully review recent feedback before booking.
