We are very disappointed with Tropical Escape Resort Homes. We spent extra money to stay in a newer property in hopes that we would get a 5 star rental and service, but we received the complete opposite!
The villa itself is beautiful, but very worn and unkept for only being a year old.
Upon arrival we had difficulty accessing the keyless entry. We called the main number, and we were told someone would be over right away. We waited for quite some time, but no one showed up. We were finally able to get the code to work.
Upon entering we found many things broken. The fridge drawer, a window, pool sticks, and toilet paper holders in the bathrooms.
The house was not clean at all! Floors didn’t look like they were swept or mopped. There were crumbs, dirt and black sticky stuff all over them. The shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom was filthy, there were soggy chips and a popsicle stick around the pool, and the sheets on an upstairs bed were dirty. We had to wash them before our kids could sleep on them.
No one ever showed up to let us in the house. A guy did show up to turn on the pool heat…after we had arrived. We addressed our concerns to him, and he told us he would relay them to management. He said someone would get back to us…..no one ever did!
I messaged Brigit through VRBO since I had quick responses from them previously when we made payments, but didn’t hear a thing!
I emailed Tropical Escape directly via the email they provide you with to address any questions or concerns without any response.
It was my understanding that the $264 service fee included in the total cost was to provide “24/7 customer support throughout your trip.” That is what they advertise any way. There is also a $363.10 admin fee included as well, and I am not sure what this is for.
We are very disappointed with the lack of service and cleanliness of our property. We have rented villas for the last 3 years to spend time with family and friends on our spring break. We haven’t had very good luck the last two years. Unfortunately, we will not be renting any properties from Tropical Escape Resort Homes ever again.
