The Merchant's Suite im 1883 Guesthouse

The ADA-accessible Merchant's Suite is in the beautifully restored Star Block, an 1883 landmark in downtown Osage City. Inspired by the merchants that once filled the building, the suite combines period character with the comforts of a contemporary guest stay.

The bedroom features a queen bed, and the sofa in the living room pulls out into a second queen-size bed. The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher, and there's a washer-dryer. You also get your own outdoor space, with French doors opening out onto a patio.

The location puts you in the middle of downtown Osage City. Forty Barrels Coffee + Kitchen, a local independent coffeehouse and restaurant, is just downstairs and features a robust menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, not to mention specialty coffee drinks, craft beers and cocktails. You can also browse Horn & Ivory Books, also downstairs, for gifts or something to read. Or take a bike ride or stroll on the award-winning Flint Hills Trail, a nearly 100-mile rail trail that recently became a state park. It passes directly behind the building. It's also a convenient home base for travelers the region's two major reservoirs, Pomona Lake and Melvern Lake, both less than 15 minutes away.
The unit is ADA accessible, with its own separate entrance that must be accessed from the rear of the building.
