Sorry to hear that you consider the property is in need of a major upgrade, however we have a deferent view.The motel was built out of solid concrete in the early 1980s with spacious rooms including kitchenette's that retain some of the original Austrian character. We believe we keep our rooms up to date for our targeted guests as shown by ratings. Some examples:- luxury king beds- new TVs- up to date air conditioner units in each studio- up to date carpet- up to date leather recliner chairs

Great Place to Stay
Great little family run motel close to town, but very quiet. Good kitchen with plenty of utensils, etc and adequate bathroom. Bed, pillows and bedding were all very good. Motel is older style, but clean and well maintained -perfect for our stay. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

I never usually write reviews but this motel deserves one. The lovely owners will do anything you ask to help you. They keep this place spotlessly clean, the bed is fabulous, the carpet is new and soft. The location is perfect. 2 minutes walk to the beach. 3 minutes walk to downtown, so it is convenient yet still away from the noise and (few) crowds. The best cafe and best restaurant (with a discount) are 2 minutes walk away. I was so sad to leave such a lovely place! Thank you.

Nice view. Great location for shops, restaurants and ferries.Rooms well equipped, clean , tidy and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Only point worth a mention was to reach rooms need to ascend stairs with cases from the parking underneath. Enjoyed a good stay, and would stay there again.

This motel is 2 minutes walk from the water-front and the centre of town and all the restaurants etc. Further it is a small motel so not a great sprawling complex.The private deck gave me sun and shelter. It was quiet.

The check in was easy and the guy on the desk took time to tell us the best places to eat They have put together a very good leaflet with lots of things to do as well The apartment was clean and well equipped you could easily prepare meals there if you wanted. Quick 2-3 minutes to the wharf

Great Christmas break.
Stayed for five nights. Unit was very comfortable. Loved the two leather layback chairs to relax on. Had a private deck to have breakfast and a drink at night.Stay was friendly and nothing was to much trouble.so easy to walk to the shops and wharf. Would definately recommend to stay at.

Location location!!
Perfect location, walking distance to shops, restaurants, the beach. Covered off street parking a bonus. Clean room, lovely sheltered balcony. Milk came in a small glass bottle - thumbs up! Great recommendations from the owner for places to eat and things to go and see. Will definitely stay again!!

We just found this Hotel close to the key parts of Town and even were on the pick-up route for Tours Buses, etc. Our first real Motel for the a 2 months stay in NZ. Extremely Happy.
