Canoeing through the Lawn Hill Gorge in Boodjamulla National Park gives you an impressive view of the huge sandstone cliffs.
I spent 3.5 hours on the water. When you reach the end of the second gorge, look for a fallen tree and a narrow stretch of water to the right. Follow that and you'll come across a rocky bank which is the perfect place to stop for lunch and have a swim. If you keep going you'll see the small little waterfalls that flow into the creek.
You can hire 1, 2 and 3-seater canoes at the National Park camp ground.
