« We had a lovely stay at Aranya Vilas in Ranthambore as a family of three with a young child. It was a welcomed break from the hustle and bustle of the city, a green oasis quiet enough to let us switch off but also conveniently only at 10mins from the National Park entrance. « Great hotel for the area. The manager, Rohit, mentioned that some elements of the design were inspired by the nearby Oberoi property and even showed me photos of the original. It was interesting to hear, though I was a bit surprised he would openly frame it that way. What stood out more to me was the situation with the hotel’s small onsite theater. « Fantastic staff - really went out of their way to ensure we have an enjoyable stay. Chef able to tailor food to our liking (we can’t have spicy food). Hotel also handled our tiger safari booking and transfers (Vikas is a great driver) - all went smoothly and the bonus was that we were lucky enough to see a tiger (zone 7). « I have mixed reviews about this property. When I originally booked the room (months in advance) I had asked the hotel if they would be able to help me book the Tiger Safari tour. I was told they would. Fast forward to a week before my visit to India, and I’m told I need to book it myself! High season, everywhere was basically booked. I had to pull strings with a tour group I used in Delhi/Agra to help me out last minute. The site is well off the beaten track, which may not be a bad thing...

« We'd highly recommend staying at this lovely, peaceful hotel which is well placed for visiting Ranthambore park zones 1-5. If you're looking for a swanky hotel, then this one is not for you. But more importantly, it is clean, comfortable and the staff were just lovely, welcoming and genuine. The meals served in the restaurant were delicious and filling and everything was well priced.
