The resort was beautiful. The room had an amazing view! Check-in process was easy! The furniture was not what was pictured. I had picked this condo because of the furniture because we love to relax on a comfortable couch. We spent no time in the living room due to the nonpictured, uncomfortable, faux leather couch was probably from IKEA or target. Linen had an initial odor and bed was not comfortable.

Decent stay, but room for improvement

Overall, our stay was okay, but the condo left a bit to be desired. It’s clear that this is a high-traffic rental unit—the furniture is noticeably worn with visible stains, and the carpet (including the living room rug) shows heavy signs of use. Cleanliness was also lacking in spots; we found chip crumbs in the coffee table and had to rewash several dishes and utensils before using them.The outdoor dining furniture was uncomfortable, and the living room sofa wasn’t ideal for relaxing after a long day—it lacked support and was badly sunken in the middle. The TV in the living room was very dim, making it difficult to watch anything at night without keeping the lights on, and all of the TVs throughout the unit are fairly small. Not a major issue, but something future renters may want to be aware of given the price point.On the plus side, check-in was seamless, and beach access from Tower 2 was easy and convenient, which we appreciated.While we understand that we stayed during peak season and expected higher rates, the overall quality didn’t quite match the price. These issues didn’t ruin our vacation, but they’re worth considering when booking. We likely wouldn’t return to this unit.

Just DO NOT DO IT

The actual property of the Portofino was phenomenal, however this particular unit was absolutely deplorable. Mold was literally growing on the ceiling in both the bathrooms, the HVAC system was not working the properly, the oven and outdoor grill were completely not functional. The property management company sent someone to assess the situation rather promptly, but EVERYTHING was a process. We ended up loosing a whole day of our vacation dealing with all of this and then they offered ZERO COMPENSATION except apologies. The issue that we ran into should have all been noticed and resolved prior to renting this unit. We spent one night in this unit bc we didn’t have a choice and several of my family members left sick. I will NEVER rent from this company again! Renters BEWARE!

Beautiful views

This was our second stay at this Portifino condo. Overall it is great. We are a family of 5 ( my husband and I and our 3 girls). The second bedroom has bunk beds which was a bonus for us. The condo was clean and everything was as advertised. The views were spectacular! The only issue was the second bedroom stayed warm - the door that leads to the balcony from that room does not appear to close all the way letting heat in, but we kept the curtains closed and the ceiling fan helped. We really enjoyed our stay and love this resort!

Review of 2-1902

The view is stunning! The unit was very clean and there was no sign of any bugs that were mentioned in other reviews. The mattresses are very comfortable. My criticisms are minor, just a little irritating. This unit is frugally furnished with no dresser drawers for clothes, there are no TV instructions and we couldn't find any major stations (CBS, NBC, ABC). The skillets provided in the kitchen are poor quality and very hard to clean. The internet worked fine once we knew which network to select. So overall I rate the unit a B+. We certainly enjoyed all the Portofino amenities!

Gross and lack of response to calls

Read the initial review and believe it. Apparently in over a year they didn’t change . Carpets disgusting with stains everywhere . Masked with the most eye - watering bleach odor . When I called their solution was to open doors and let air out . Had to request more pillows and blankets and dint show up first day. Luckily we live locally and went home and got some . They came following day with some . Called again and spoke and they were to have called me back . No call or text. I messaged again the next day and they were to call me back the morning . No one called . I even left a 3rd message with no message . Toilet ran in 1/2 bath. For hours then would stop . Minimal stuff in kitchen . Literally 1 pan and 1 pot.- may be. A lid. Terrible. Wonderful & Accurate

This was a wonderful place to stay with a family. The description and pictures are 100% accurate. We had 2 boys (14 ans 10). The bunk beds and separate bathroom was a plus. The half balf was also beneficial. Portofino is definitely a family oriented place. The extreme package was well worth the money and paid for itself 3x over. It was very cold our week and had We only had the beach it would have been very long. The fact that we had the inside pool, and activities on the sound side that were included in the extreme package was what made our trip the best. The beach/adventure Manager and ladies/guys on the beach/sound side are the most respectful and helpful people as well. They went out of their way everyday to make our trip enjoyable. Thank you for the memories!!

Perfect for a couple or family with 1 to 2 children

We really enjoyed our time at the Portofino. The resort was amazing. The condo was beautiful but didn’t have the necessities to make the stay super comfortable. The sheets on the master bed didn’t fit at all, interrupting our sleep and the extra set was for a queen size bed. There was only 1 extra heavier blanket which made it tough with a large family, we have 4 kids. We went out on to the balcony and our first view was a cockroach. We saw them every day of our stay there, all different kinds and sizes and that gave us the heeby jeebies. There were also no dressers to put our clothing in. There were luggage racks thank heavens, but we’re unpackers on vacation so that was an inconvenience, especially with that cockroach situation, it made me nervous bringing my luggage home . I think that with time and hearing and working on what people need to be comfortable on a vacation this condo has potential to be an amazing place to escape to.

Roaches, Dirty and Disappointing

When we first booked the unit, they had noted that the furniture was being changed out and pictures would be updated. Closer to our check in (but too late to make any changes), pictures were posted, that I assumed were interim progress pictures. I was wrong. There are literally no decorations in this rental. Worse than that… 1. There is not enough furniture to support 6 guests. The dining table only has 4 chairs. The living rooms only has seating for 4. 2. The limited furniture inside the unit is actually patio furniture and extremely uncomfortable and noisy. I'm talking outdoor cheap metal table and chairs in the dining room and living room. 3. The furniture that is there is dirty. 4. The carpet is filthy. I mean REALLY filthy. I can't imagine it's even been shampooed recently. So much so, that after just 20 minutes of being there my daughter's legs and feet were black from crawling on the floor. 5. The bedding in the primary bedroom was dirty and sheets torn. 6. There is no dresser or shelving anywhere to put your clothes in either bedroom. 7. There is no coffee table. 8. There are no rugs of any sort within the unit. Which makes it gross to walk around without shoes. 9. There are no lamps in the bedrooms. 10. The guest bath tub doesn’t drain freely. 11. The guest room tv is on a night stand it doesn’t fit on and is unstable. Worried my kids would knock it off the table. 12. The grill and patio are filthy. 13. Many kitchenware items were still in the plastic wrap and obviously haven't been cleaned. 14. 1 day into our stay we started noticing cockroaches. Not typical Florida Palmetto bugs, roaches. They had gotten into my toiletry bag and the trash cans. We called the property manager and they sent someone out to replace the dirty and torn bed linens and then a separate time to spray for the roaches. Obviously nothing could be done for the lack of furniture. No other complaints were addressed. The property management did end up saying they would refund what amount to 17-18% of what we paid. That's been a week ago, but still haven't received the refund.
