Home away from home
We've been here before and were very glad to be able to book it again. Agriturismo Collosodo offers amazing privacy and one of the most beautiful and most photographed views in Tuscany. The hosts Elena and Fabio are truly wonderful and will do everything to make you feel welcome in this spacious, sunny house. We'll definately return if we can. Thanks for a wonderful time!

Idyllisches Bauerhaus in der Toskana
Das Ferienhaus ist ein altes Bauernhaus direkt auf dem Anwesen der Besitzer. Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt und alles ist sehr sauber. Das Haus entsprach der Beschreibung im Inserat. Das Objekt liegt idyllisch auf einem Hügel und ist sehr abgeschieden. Es bietet einen einmaligen Blick auf Monticchiello, Montepulciano und Pienza. Das Flair ist zauberhaft. Der Check in war durch die Besitzer sehr herzlich und unkompliziert. Wir haben uns sofort sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Besitzer waren nicht aufdringlich, waren jedoch für alle Anfragen unkompliziert ansprechbar. Das Bauernhaus selbst ist aufgrund des Alters schlicht in der technischen Ausstattung. Es gibt keine Spülmaschine und keine Mikrowelle. Aber dies tat unserer Reise keinen Abbruch. Insbesondere bei den sanitären Anlagen gab es keinen Grund zur Beanstandung. Die gesamte Einrichtung ist sehr liebevoll. Die Fenster sind mit Fliegengittern ausgestattet. Den Pool haben wir aufgrund der Temperaturen wenig genutzt. Er war stets sehr gepflegt. Es gab genügend Liegen. Man musste vom Haus nur wenige Schritte dort hin laufen. Wir können dieses Ferienobjekt mit ihren tollen Besitzern Fabio und Elena nur jedem empfehlen und kommen selber gerne wieder. Ciao und a presto!

A perfect place and a wonderful experience
This charming farm house was the perfect match! We were exploring Tuscany at the beginning of June 2017 and found the ideal place to stay – an old farm house at Monticchiello close to wonderful historic cities/villages, wine-growing regions and wellness/thermal areas (Montalcino, Pienza or Montepulciano just 10-20 mins. driving, Siena or Orvieto approx. 1 hour, thermal baths/springs e.g. Bagno Vignone or Bagno San Filippo approx. 25 mins.). Our hosts Elena and Fabio were just lovely, very welcoming and kind. They provided valuable tips and recommendations about the region, restaurants or places to visit. We loved the calm, relaxed and private atmosphere - and of course the phenomenal view. The property is very well-maintained, we enjoyed the large pool, the well-equipped kitchen and were very thankful of the window/fly-screens in sleeping and bath rooms ;o) Elena & Fabio, many thanks for a wonderful time!

Best house and perfect location in Tuscany
The house is located in the best area in Tuscany. It is close from many place to see and not that far from Sienna and Firenze. The house is very very clean and practice. Wonderful walks accessible all around and also by bikes. The tenants are among the most kind people there is and fully dedicated to help. We had a great stay !

Bellissimo Collosodo!
We are joining the chorus of other reviewers who have raved about their stay at Collosodo. My husband and I stayed for nearly a month and loved it. The house feels like home and Elena and Fabio couldn’t be more gracious. They live on the other side of the house and take meticulous care of the house and the grounds, which include the lovely pool. They were around and checked in regularly to make sure everything was okay but were also considerate of our privacy and so were never intrusive. But because they were around, unlike other VRBO rentals that we’ve had where the owners lived far away, they were readily available with friendly smiles and attended to any minor issues that arose. They also gave us great tips for eating out and places to visit and shop for food. The house is very comfortable with a nice size kitchen that is well outfitted. It was great to arrive and have eggs and juice in the fridge and pastries on the counter along with all of the necessary staples in the cabinets. There is plenty of space in the bathrooms for toiletries, lots of blankets in the closets (although we never needed them) and plenty of fresh towels every week. I combed every review before I arrived and no one mentioned the beds. So I’m adding that they are firm and provide good back support. Most of all, the views are absolutely sensational! A painter, I came with the intention of painting the scenery in the area. I painted everyday from the yard! Grazie mille Elena e Fabio!

Siamo stati in questa bellissima casa durante la settimana di ferragosto, cercavamo tranquillità, silenzio e relax e li abbiamo trovati! La vista, ovunque si guardi, é magnifica e in pochi km di macchina si raggiungono paesi meravigliosi. Elena e Fabio sono due persone gentili e disponibili. La piscina é molto grande e l'uso esclusivo é davvero raro da trovare. Consiglio assolutamente questa struttura, noi ci torneremo ;)

Lovely home, wonderful pool, ideal for the family
We stayed in this lovely house near Montichiello with our children which is a great base for the local towns of Pienza and Montepulciano. The children loved the pool and the house is brilliantly spacious, having three bathrooms which was excellent. All the bathrooms are well equipped, with space for all your toiletries and makeup. Absolutely the best pool of any house we've rented via VRBO. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, and it was very kind of Elena to provide washing liquid, detergent etc for the appliances which meant we did not have to purchase everything! Montichiello has all the basic things you need too, we loved having a drink at La Guardiola and dinner at La Porta was lovely. Elena and Fabio are a lovely couple who looked after us very well. Thank you for providing a wonderful holiday house with such a picturesque location!

Best views of Tuscany Rollinghills
This was one of the most beautiful and panoramic views of the Tuscany country side and rolling hills that one could wish for. Elena and her husband were excellent hosts and made sure we were comfortable and our stay was worry free. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden and having a glass of Tuscany wine admiring the peaceful scenic views. We had just visited Rome and needed some quiet time. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for that true Italian Tuscany countryside experience.

Magnificent
This stay was one of our BEST experiences on VRBO. The hosts Elena and Fabio were both so welcoming and hospitable. They were immediately available for any questions and also suggestions of the local area. The property is so centrally located with incredible views of three destinations right from the villa! It was so easy to get around Tuscany. Montechiello was just 5 minutes away and was so charming. Also, has some amazing Michelin rated restaurants. The villa was spacious and very accommodating. We certainly hope to come back someday and would never want to stay anywhere else! Thank you Elena and Fabio for making our Tuscan dreams come true!!

The perfect Tuscan location
We booked the house a year ago and were not disappointed. The house lies just outside the small village of Monticchiello overlooking the town and the via dei cipressi - arguably the prettiest road in Tuscany. The road to the house is a Strada Bianca and quite steep, so be prepared for some dust and rattling. Elena greeted us and showed us the house enthusiastically. Although English was limited, we communicated without problems. The rooms are large and although not air conditioned, the stone walls and nighttime breezes kept temperatures comfortable (we stayed there during a fortnight with daytime temperatures in the 97-100F range). The swimming pool was a great boon. The kitchen was well equipped and a washing machine made it easy to keep clothes clean. Internet was sufficient for most things (and let’s face it, you’re not here to be gaming!). Pienza and Montepulciano are both visible from the house and about 15 minutes away. We would definitely stay here again. Mille grazie Elena e Fabio!

Wonderful stay at Agriturismo Collosodo
We were visiting Monticchiello for a wedding and had an amazing stay at Agriturismo Collosodo. Elena was so welcoming and told us everything we needed to know about the house and village. She was easy to contact prior to checking in and made everything very easy for us. The house had everything we needed and was within walking distance of the village. The views were incredible and we spent most of our time relaxing at the beautiful pool. We had a brilliant weekend and I would recommend Elena and her house to everyone!

Absolutely Lovely
We loved this property. It was the perfect base for our five day Tuscany vacation. The beautiful old farmhouse was so authentic and the owners were fantastic. They gave us restaurant suggestions and left helpful tips for us to ensure we saw all of the highlights in the area. Our favourite thing was sipping wine on the patio while looking at the amazing view of the hill towns and country scenery. This is the real Tuscan experience!

Best view in Tuscany
Elena and Fabio are wonderful hosts. Always there when you need them without intruding. Delightful villa surrounded by fruit and nut trees. The figs, apples and almonds were in season during our stay and if you ever pick and eat a fig from a tree the days of ever buying them at a supermarket are over. The villa is set high on a hill overlooking the tuscan countryside and across at Monticchiello itself. Easy access to the surrounding villages. Our favorite spot however was sunset at the front, sipping some wine and watching the mountain towns light up and twinkle accross the hills.

Spectacular view , great pool, and some disappointments
The pool has a great view but it is 100 m walk from the house, so if you want to eat or drink by the pool you have to carry everything. The bed is not at all king size but narrow. Kitchen utensils were old and not clean. Little bottles of shampoo were half used... when I asked the host for extra sheet I didn’t get it and had to go to their house and ask again. Still, this is a very beautiful and romantic place...

Another Spectacular Week!
This is the 2nd time I have stayed in this beautiful home. Elena and Fabio are wonderful!! They make us feel like part of their family. The views of the countryside from their perch atop the hill are simply spectacular. And the property is very conveniently located, only a 20 minute drive to Piena or Montepulciano, and a little father to Montalcino; and only 3 minutes to the charming village of Montecchiello. The picturesque swimming pool provides a great break after long days exploring the Tuscan Hill towns. This truly is a wonderful property, and I hope I can return. Thank you Fabio and Elena!!

Beautiful View
Great property with great owners. We were looking for a centralized place that we could take day trips to the surrounding Tuscan Village’s. This was right what we wanted. Even the pool has an incredible view. I thought it was a separate structure on the property but it’s all one big place. Really not a problem though because we only saw the owners a couple of times. One night we sat by the pool in the dark and saw 5 shooting stars in about 20 minutes. You really can’t beat the views.

Heaven on Earth
Heaven on earth – Agritursmo Collosodo is absolutely heaven on earth. Perched above the village of Montechiello, overlooking one of the most photographed, Cyprus-lined, twisting roads in Tuscany, this lovely farmhouse is taken care of by Elena and Fabio; who also took wonderful care of my husband, 13-year-old son and me during our four-night stay. We were welcomed with coffee-cake for our first morning which we ate in Elena’s beautiful garden surrounding the house which had been her grandmother’s. The next afternoon we were met with fresh-picked cherries from Elena’s sister’s garden. We enjoyed the cherries pool-side as the heat had climbed in Tuscany to unusual temps. We traveled out in the mornings to Cortona (45 minute drive) or Montepulciano (25 minute drive), got take-out pizza from a shop Fabio recommended or wine tasted at the nearby Pulciano winery and enjoyed the area’s famous Pecorino with a glass of wine once happily back at Collosodo. After the heat of the day, a trip to Piensa for dinner was perfect but so was the dinner in Montechiello where we could look back up the hill and enjoy seeing where we’d been sitting only an hour earlier. We loved our stay and only wish it could be longer. We will definitely be back and feel lucky to have found this Tuscan gem.

Fantastic!!
What a great place. Perfectly located in the heart of Tuscany. We spent three days exploring the hilltop towns and villages nearby and three evenings eating in some very good restaurants. The property itself is lovely with everything you need including a pool area to relax. Our hosts were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. You can tell that they want their guests to be comfortable and happy. They gave us restaurant recommendations that were spot on. We could not recommend highly enough and would gladly return to this beautiful part of the world.

Perfect Tuscany Experience!
We really enjoyed our stay at this place. The hosts were so friendly and helpful and we enjoyed getting to know them and learning about the property. The location was Perfect! We were able to easily drive to Chianti, Florence, Assisi, Montepulciano, Pienza, Montecheillo, most within a 20-30 minute drive. If you want a true Italian farm house experience, with an amazing view, and easy accessibility, this is the place!

Lovely Place
This property is a very nice way to spend some time in Tuscany. It is well situated near several notable hill towns (Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Bagno Vignoni, and Siena to name a few), keeping in mind that "near" in Tuscany parlance (i.e. you can see your intended destination from where you are), might still mean a 30-40 min drive to get there (windy roads, some unpaved). You MUST have a car. The dwelling is a well maintained farm house. It is not a castle. It is however charming and cozy and rustic and reasonably well appointed. The hot water is hot. We opened the windows at night and slept like the dead. The hosts live in the attached house next door. We didn't require much from them as I had been to the area before, but they were charming and helpful when needed, and responded to my email queries prior to our stay very quickly. The property is typical of the area. Situated near the top of a hill, with a sweeping view of the surrounding countryside. The outdoor space is comfortable, and we made breakfast every morning (the kitchen could accommodate a more elaborate meal as well) and ate outside under some nice tall trees while watching the morning light envelop the surrounding hills. There are far worse ways to start your day. Remember to get provisions for cooking and snacking while you're out, as there are no 7-Elevens nearby and ordering delivery is not a thing. The Conad in Montepulciano is a large supermarket and there are several smaller COOP supermarkets in the area as well. The pool is quite nice and would serve a larger party well, but we didn't have much time to use it. There is a barbeque grill and charcoal available, but we just had some wine and cheese while sitting outdoors. I highly recommend that very simple and peaceful activity to remind you why you came to Tuscany in the first place. Overall, a very nice and pleasant place to stay.

Tuscan Delight
We had the pleasure of staying 10 days at this wonderful location. Ideal for the wedding that we were attending nearby and it has a fabulous view over the Val D’Orcia with Pienza, Montepulciano and Monticchiello all in sight from the farmhouse. The accommodation was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The washing machine was great to have too, especially after a few days spent previously in Rome. The pool was lovely and ours alone to enjoy. Elena and Fabio made us very welcome and were always happy to recommend routes and restaurants. La Porta restaurant in Monticchiello was a firm favourite of ours. The accommodation is nicely situated on a hill overlooking the valley and is quiet at night. A fabulous place to stay
  Elena and Fabio were most welcoming and were always ‘there’ if we needed them! Excellent information about visitng local places of interest. Plentiful supply of figs!- delicious with the local meats – from the very handy shop walking distance away in the village of Montichiello. Stunning position – to enjoy days at the villa and for exploring nearby places. We loved relaxing by the wonderful pool – in the welcomed shaded area or enjoying the beautiful Tuscan sun on the many sunbeds!! A perfect holiday for us all. Thank you.

Perfecte locatie voor een vakantie in Toscane
Zeer mooi gelegen woning . Erg vriendelijke en discrete eigenaars (die een ander deel van de woning bewonen) die voor een warm onthaal zorgden en steeds bereikbaar zijn wanneer nodig. Vanuit de woning en de tuin (met erg groot zwembad) heb je een meesterlijk zicht op de Toscaanse heuvels met Pienza, Montichiello en Montepulciano. Een aanrader voor de rust, het uitzicht, de locatie en de vriendelijke eigenaars.

Perfect location from which to explore southern Tuscany. The views are amazing.
My wife, our toddler and my parents stayed here in late May and early June. We loved it. The hosts were lovely. The accomdations very clean and comfortable. We most enjoyed our views from the outdoor eating area from which Monticchielo was only a couple kilometers away. The area also looked out onto Pienza (10 km by car) and Montepulciano (about 15 km by car). We did short day trips each day to one town or another, which made for a lovely pace to or holiday. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer.

Tuscany's most beautifull view
Staying at the house was just perfect. The old tuscan house, which has been in the family for generations, is on the top of a hill with a view of Montipulciano, Pienza and the close by City Montichello. The owners are very kind and recommended a lot of local thing we did not know about. This is the perfect spot for visiting the best Wine districts and small old cities in Tuscany.

Great experience, location, and owners!
This charming farmhouse was the perfect size and location for us. The property itself overlooks the town of Monticchiello and has quintessential Tuscany views of rolling hills with famous cypress tree lined roads. It’s only 10-20 minutes from several other towns so it’s a great location for short day trips to Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, and just under an hour to Siena. The house and property are very well maintained, the wifi worked well, and the owners are incredibly kind. Elena and Fabio helped us prior to arrival with a dinner reservation, finding the grocery store, and had essential food items for us when we arrived. They brought us fresh figs from their fig tree and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We very much enjoyed everything about this property and will be back!
