„On first inspection the room appeared cosy with equality fixtures and bedding, however the headboard was filthy and smelly. The bedside lights were full of dust. The carpet was grubby. The wardrobe door doesn’t shut The bar area carpet was dirty Table was covered in fly dirt. Food was poor.“

„Friendly staff, rooms clean, comfy beds, bathroom spotless, nice food , outside area ( tables) could do with a bit of a spruce“

„Had a great stay. Staff were wonderful. Meals in the restaurant were the best I’ve had out for a long time. I’d travel the hour just for the food. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. It would have been flawless if there was an 2nd pillow and the door from the stairs entry didn’t bang so loundly when people walked through. Both an easy fix. Would definitely recommend“

„The Calfs Head is a charming country hotel. We ate in the conservatory which was lovely. The food was good but the desserts were excellent. The staff were delightful and the ambience was very comfortable.“

„Very friendly and helpful staff, good rooms, value for money, good location. “

We arrived Saturday lunch time, they had a party of 40 in, but fitted us in and it was delicious! staff attentive and it arrived quickly so all good, so I am very sad ( and surprised ) to say breakfast was poor ! we didn't opt for the buffet and cooked ,rather just the cooked, it took ages to appear ...

„Friendly staff. Upon arrival, there isn’t a person permanently at the check-in desk…not really a problem, but if there was a sign directing newcomers to the bar for assistance, that would help. I wish there were fridges in the rooms. But the shower was great, room was clean, and a kettle for tea/coffee worked great. And the food available at the attached pub is excellent. Just be careful as the pub is popular and while there is plenty of parking for residents, it’s shared with the pub. And the ...

„We stayed for two nights and while the room could best be described as adequate, the public areas are spacious, clean and well-decorated. There’s a large car park; the food’s delicious and the staff are friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Although the room was small and a bit dingy, we’d stay again simply because the people are so nice.“
