A lot of work needed
The stay was altogether just bearable. The staff was very friendly. For example I arrived with my motorbike and immediately I was advised to Park it on a safe spot. However, the facilities of the hotel were below the expected standard, even for a simple, not fancy hotel. The most important thing was the condition of the bathroom: there was obviously a leak from the Second floor which had not been fixed. Over humidity had damaged a big part of the bathrooms ceiling. Also the breakfast was not the appropriate and described standard. The bread was not correctly prepared (was in the plastic bag), things were missing from the buffet (e.g. no fruit yogurts, no croissants). The omelette that I was offered was good.

Never again
Right next to the main Street with loads of cars passing through. Old windows don't cancel any noise so sleeping is a challenge if you are not deaf. Beds were good 10 years ago, now you can feel any single spring piercing your back. Good luck trying to find some rest. Pub downstairs plays music until around midnight. Rooms were clean, though. But the stay was the worst we had so far. For this ridiculous price we expected a little more.

gemütliches familiengeführtes Hotel im Altbau. Liegt belebt an der Hauptstraße des Ortes. Die Doppelverglasung löst diese Problem. Sehr gutes englisches Frühstück. Das integrierte ebenfalls gemütliche Restaurant ist ebenfalls zu empfehlen für den abentlichen Aufenthalt bei Cider und englischem Essen. Die Verbindung nach Bath ist mit dem Bus vor der Tür möglich, mit dem eigenem Fahrzeug kein Problem. Wir würden hier wieder übernachten.

Easy check in. Staff helpful. Room ok and nice shower. Very friendly pub but did not have ales available. Guinness was very nice though and reasonably priced. Good value.

It was so awful, I did not stay and had to book an alternative hotel. I was shocked at the condition of the hotel and that it is even being featured by Expedia. Rooms were on the busy road side only, with no double-glazing.

Bed was comfy and clean. Paint peeling from the ceiling of our room due to water damage. Carpet very dirty, felt like I wanted to wash my feet after walking on it. The website offered evening meals but they haven’t done them nightly for some years only only Friday and Saturdays. We are in our 70’s and we’re on the 3rd floor. We don’t might stairs but there was no offer to help use with our bags.

Great room with everything we needed on top of a lovely little village pub. Couldn’t ask for any more! Excellent value and the breakfast (not included) was superb and well worth paying extra for.

Good value stay. Sorry they no longer do breakfast except at weekends but was able to get breakfast nearby. House has a lot of character, stairs to second floor are rather steep so best to opt for the first floor if slightly less able.

Have been before under previous ownership ,lovely room would have liked to take it home with me. Unfortunately this time there were no breakfast or evening meals which had been so good on our previous visit but staff were friendly and it's handy for the Mining Museum which we wanted to visit again , so comfortable stay and fish'n'chip shop down the road.

Booked for two staff to stay locally to a job. Was sent a video of the rooms they were given. Both rooms were very dated, cracked tiles on the toilet floor, dirty water marks over ceiling, wallpaper peeling off the wall under the window. Carpet needs updating. Can't comment on the comfort of the bed. Shame, it just needs a bit of attention.

Small room with a tiny single bed. There was no food apart from breakfast on Friday and Saturdays and that didn't start till 9, more for the locals I suspect. My fault really, you get what you pay for!

Super friendly, helpful, welcoming hotel. Easy stay. Just outside Bath so short trip in to the sights. We only stayed for one night for Christmas market & show in Bath. Clean & basic hotel. Great price for large room & big carpark. Recommend
