Tiny rooms

We chose this hotel because it was on our route as we explored the south of Iceland. Other than that, it doesn't have much going for it. The room was TINY - there were two single beds head to toe down one wall, and a space next to them barely wide enough to walk. Finding somewhere to put our bags so that we didn't have to climb over them was a challenge! It was very clean though, and luckily the shared bathrooms had excellent showers. The breakfast buffet was also great before heading out to for the day. There was only one restaurant within walking distance in the evening, but other shops open during the day. If you're after some nightlife, stay in a bigger town.

Hotel Mossfell - Hella

The hotel was an average motel-style facility. Adequate breakfast - nothing special. The hotel location was great and easy to see as you drive eastwards over the river. The Aarhus (spelling?) restaurant on the other side of the highway is highly recommended.

The morning breakfast is very good with lots of options. The front desk staff are helpful. There is a very nice restaurant area for dinner. I found the hallway noise to be excessive from echoing an effect, hot tubs were actually lukewarm, the shower curtain sticks to you while you shower, and free wifi was extremely slow.

Room was ok, with nice bathroom. Breakfast was good. Close to Ahrus restaurant, gas station and supermarket. Really effective hotel for the price.

Stop on the way

Hella is a stopover outside Reykjavik on the way South. Nothing there to see. Hotel is clean, modest, good breakfast, twin beds. No restaurants to speak of. Fill up with gas, get a nightÂŽs sleep and move on
