The property sits in a very nice environment. Service was quite different by department. Breakfast service was great, personal customer oriented and very friendly. Reception desk at times confused. The bar closes at 11pm, that's ok, but having the area 5mins later cleared by security is competely overdone. As the area is so nice, the hotel is frequently used for weddings (4 weddings on one weekend!). That`s a stress for the staff and for the other guests. The quiet environment is not as quiet any more.

We stayed for an overnight to celebrate our anniversary. 13 years ago we had our wedding reception at the Woodcliffe and wanted to return. Everything was very clean and the check in process was quick and easy!

The Property and location was beautiful and had a great view. Rooms were nice and liked the bar and restaurant. Unfortunately our check-in experience wasn't the best. We arrived at 2:00 but no king rooms were ready yet. We checked our luggage and came back at 4:00. When we tried to check in they said they didn't have any King rooms left that were ready. Eventually a phone call to the cleaning service resulted in an available room.

Hotel is dirty! Room was dirty and common area in the lobby was filthy. Price is definitely overpriced for the way the rooms are kept. The bathroom had stains on the wall and the floor was dirty. We had to put towels on the bathroom floor before we could walk on it. The staff at the front desk was rude and the manager was also rude! Didn’t seem to like that I booked though Expedia.

When we first got to the property it was the easiest check in ever and the room was nice and seemed clean at first. when my dad woke the next morning he had ants in his hair there were ants all over the bathroom. I went down to front desk to tell them about the situation they Immediately apologized and gave a refund could not ask for better front desk staff but rooms need to be cleaned more thoroughly.

To suggest that this property is 4 stars is more than a little bit of a stretch. I’m guessing that it was a chain hotel that was “refurbished” to create the spa. Unless we got a bad room because we went thru Expedia, I would give the property a 2.5 stars. The mere fact I’m leaving a review should tell you something. I avoid doing this usually, but felt duped by the description. Let’s talk about positives…location. Negatives…wasn’t sure if the front desk person worked there or was just covering the desk for a moment (no uniform), tried to charge me an extra $10 for a “facility fee”, wrinkle sheets (did someone lay on the bed?), random microwave sitting on the counter with cords hanging across a sink (had to just unplug and move everything), couldn’t control the AC/heat (?!?), stained/ burned light cover in bathroom, no water pressure in shower but a toilet that would randomly run. I would accept this from La Quinta or Best Western (and there are times when that is what you want/ need). Just don’t trick me into thinking I’m staying at a nicer place.

We have now stayed at the Woodcliff 3 times as our daughter has an annual competition in Rochester. The staff is always lovely. The property itself is dated and needs an upgrade. The rooms are clean but again dated, and the shower drains need some help. The staff at the local restaurant, Horizons is always lovely, the food is good, not amazing but solid and good. and the bands they hire for the weekend are always a pleasure. As we're always there at the very beginning of spring we've never used the outdoor pool or the spa services. We keep coming back because of the staff and cause it is the nicest property we've found in the area.

Unlike photos and website. Not luxurious at all. Pool is constantly busy with no supervision, and pool looks cloudy. Hot tub is always full. Celebrated our 8 year anniversary and we didnt even get to use the hot tub. They do not honor expedia gold members or VIP access. They did not give me my free room upgrade or late check out which is an offer i get with VIP access. They almost charged me for free credits that came with my expedia. They didn't know how to redeem any of it so after an inconvenient and long check out the desk lady finally decided to take the charges off. Whats the point of gold or VIP if these businesses don't care about third party bookings. Absolutely not worth the money. Stay at a chain and get a massage down the street, thats what i did. Horizons dining was the best part of our stay.

The hotel as a whole is beautiful, however there are a few areas that make the hotel a bit outdated. The room I stayed in was pretty spacious the view was of the parking lot and the sink outside the bathroom was a bit awkward because it was unnecessary. The toilet in our bathroom didn’t flush properly and I couldn’t get ahold of the front desk to fix it but over all the stay was pretty nice. I would stay again if offered the opportunity.

It would have been 5/5 stars except our room didnt have hot water! The first time we tried to take showers we let it run, at the advice of the front desk for about 20 minutes before we had to get ready to go without showering. Later that evening we tried again. We ran it for over 45 minutes! The lady at the front desk said the buildings old, run it longer. My husband was upset and said he just wanted an effing hot shower. She said she told him she couldnt help and was done talking to him. No accommodations were offered or made. So while everything and everyone else was just wonderful, it definitely left a really bad taste in our mouth. And when i say no hot water, it was downright cold.
