„We’ve been coming to Davis for a long time but this was our first time staying in Black Bear. The Bear Lair was perfect for our stay. Clean, well decorated, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and plenty of firewood. The central location was great as we bounced between Dolly Sods, Timberline, White Grass and downtown Davis. Abby was super responsive and accommodating. We definitely plan to return. “

„It was adequate for a night ; I wouldn't suggest staying any longer than that. The mattresses seemed to be new but were very hard, not good for side sleepers. It is in the process of renovation but has a lot of work still needed, particularly the bathroom. The pool was also out of order. Eat somewhere else. The bar was understaffed with only a single worker acting as both bartender and waiter. Management just stood there givng the poor guy a nasty look without help or direction. Food tasted ...

„Shawn was an incredibly attentive and thoughtful host and the property was even better than expected. Exceptionally clean with so much space and considerate touches for families! Super close to Deep Creek and Wisp (8 minutes max) but we just loved being together in a comfy, cozy cabin! The hot tub was new and very well-kept and S’mores at the lovely fire pit were a fave! This was a last minute choice as another host cancelled our reservation (we’d made two months before) two days before our trip ...

„Alpine Lake Manor was a great fall retreat! The house sits on the lake, so we got a great view of the geese, ducks, & a beautiful great blue heron, along wirh the autumn color-changing leaves! The house had some great antique finds such as a hand made/sewn notebook, a wonderful vase ala Frank Lloyd Wright, and a window shutter wall hanging of the Raven by Edgar Alan Poe.
