It's our second time at Silsbee! We were at the Rajah room the first time, and now at in the Canton room. We loved our stay. Quiet, not in the middle of everything BUT close enough to walk everywhere. The Mercy Tavern near by (3 min walk) is a MUST! Best burgers in town! We had an AC issue on a day of 105, and the owner was very quick and responsive and had good options, although we were able to quickly fix the issue! Breakfast is hold almost in a museum place! So pretty! We love Salem, and will probably be back at this inn!! I love the idea of encourage little businesses!
We loved our short stay at SilsbeeâsâŠour room was beautiful and comfortable, and Patrick was so helpful and communicated with us quickly and thoroughly.
Beautiful property. Close enough to walk to all the town attractions and free assigned off street parking. However the stairs to the 2nd floor are high and steep. There is no insulation in the place. You can literally see the room below through the floor boards and it sounds like the people down there are in the same room. For us that meant a very loud group of people who kept us up. At no point did we see anyone who ran the place. Everything came via email. A code to the door, how to get in, how to leave the place, etc.. The bed was extra firm and we both ended up in pain each morning, plus I think the shower needs a PHD to work it.
It was a bit tricky with all the emailing of codes etc & the stairs were also hard to get up with all our luggage but it was a cute place to stay in keeping with the area
Beautiful, but the pull-out sofa was in bad condition. The mattress was essentially sunken in and very uncomfortable. Would be a great stay for 2 people, but for 4, it was not a good fit.
We had a lovely stay. The owner and the staff are very friendly. The room was a dream, we stayed at the Rajah room which has a beautiful badtub. The breakfast area is so cozy, the tea
Absolutely beautiful property and room! We were in the Rajah room which was quite spacious and beautifully designed. The owner was very polite and responsive to our texts and questions. We had a simple continental breakfast that was included, and the highlight were the different teas that they make in house. It was fun to see the interiors of the older home from the 1600s, and appreciated the explanation of the history of the home from Patrick.
No staff available on arrival. You got to figure things out or call. Itâs stressful. Thermostat was in the hallway so you share settings with other rooms. Breakfast choice is underwhelming.
Room and Bath was nice. Location is good and the antique ambiance is very nice.
The room was beautiful, spacious, and well appointed. Parking was easy and the house was a very walkable distance from everything in Salem. Looking forward to our next stay!
