This was a great stay overall. This was a last minute reservation as my previous rental for the same period of time got cancelled upon arrival. The host of this property, Andrea, was super helpful in getting us checked in. Great communications with her and follow ups to make sure we had what we needed. The decor is a little dated but it also made it kind of nostalgic. It's close to the downtown SA area which was nice. If you're okay with moderate distance walks, you can make it to the Riverwalk in less than 30 minutes. The neighborhood is a little older which gives the appearance that it might be unsafe, but we hardly saw anyone else even out to validate that assertion. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the noise. The house next door has a chicken coop and there are roosters cawing all throughout the day and early morning. There is also a train depot a block away, where there are trains running every couple of hours. Apparently, there's no noise ordinance in SA either, because the trains would still be honking/blowing their whistle even at 2am. To the host's credit they do provide a white noise machine and earplugs but to light sleepers like myself and another member of our group, between the roosters and the trains, it made for not the most restful of sleeps. If you are okay with the noise, I wouldn't hesitate to rent here.
