We (a family of five: two young kids, grandmother, and parents) found this Historic Victorian truly charming and very comfortable. Its downtown location was incredibly convenient, especially for my wife's conference – quicker to walk to the convention center than take an Uber!As city dwellers, the "gritty" downtown vibe wasn't a shock, but it's worth noting for others. We loved how perfectly situated it was near the vibrant Gaslamp Quarter and delicious Little Italy. A huge bonus was the beautiful kids' park right on the waterfront, fantastic for our little ones. The property itself was very clean, exceptionally cute, and felt secure. We were pleasantly surprised by the street parking; we always found a spot right in front of the house when we returned in the evenings. There's also a convenient paid lot directly across the street. There are a couple of minor points to be aware of: be sure to keep the front door latched/locked even when you're inside, as a strong gust of wind can blow it open. Also, the primary bed was quite uncomfortable, with noticeable body grooves and a squeak that made sleep a bit challenging. As expected with a downtown location, there's a fair amount of street noise, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.Overall, this was a very reasonably priced and well-located option for a family visiting downtown. We'd recommend it!
