The cabin itself is beautiful and the location on the lake is excellent, with kayaks and swimming supplies provided; however, the condition of the property was extremely disappointing, especially given that we paid nearly 1,000 for a three-night stay. Upon arrival we initially could not access the cabin, though the owner did respond promptly. The exterior was neglected with overgrown weeds and trees, moldy and unusable patio furniture, and a grill containing maggots. Inside, there was a strong musty odor, heavy dust, spider webs, greasy and blackened surfaces, and windows so dirty it was difficult to see outside. The bedding smelled musty and dirty, there were not enough clean sheets, several beds were missing blankets and pillows, and only old, yellowed pillows were available. Kitchen surfaces, including the dining table, stove, and oven, were coated in old grease and food residue and had to be cleaned before we could cook for our children. After contacting the host, cleaners were sent to at least clean the floors and remove the maggots, which we appreciated. While we did enjoy the lake and a campfire, the lack of cleanliness and basic maintenance made arriving late at night truly devastating and the overall condition unacceptable for the price.
