Our stay at Lake Song Cabin in Wears Valley, Tennessee was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this place was thoughtfully designed for comfort, relaxation, and making memories.The cabin itself was spotless—one of the cleanest rentals we’ve ever stayed in. Every room felt fresh, well-maintained, and inviting. You can tell the owners take great pride in keeping everything in top condition.The sleeping arrangements were perfect for our group. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out comfortably, with cozy beds that made it easy to unwind after long days exploring the area. Whether you’re traveling with family or a group of friends, the layout works beautifully.What really sets Lake Song apart are the amenities. Everything you could possibly need is already there—from a fully equipped kitchen to relaxing common areas that are perfect for gathering together. It strikes the perfect balance between feeling like a home and a getaway.One of our favorite parts of the trip was the fishing. The peaceful setting around the cabin made it an ideal spot to cast a line and just enjoy the quiet of nature. Whether you’re an experienced angler or just looking to relax by the water, it adds something really special to the experience.Overall, Lake Song Cabin is a hidden gem in Wears Valley. Between the cleanliness, comfortable accommodations, great amenities, and the added bonus of fishing, it’s a place we would absolutely return to.

Stayed in the cabin called Lake Song. Absolutely horrible experience. Parking was terrible for our family van. They have no pictures online of the driveway and that is quite intentional. The lower level of the house is not even attached to the lower part of the house. This is not clear from the description. Very bad if you plan to put kids on the bunks. No way for kids to get to Mom and Dad in the middle of the night or in an emergency. Heavy mouse activity in the lower portion of the house with mouse pellets everywhere. My wife had to clean it out before my children could stay downstairs. Gas grille, shown in pictures is not even present at the cabin. The world's most uncomfortable beds by far. Do not stay here.

Family vacation

Property very clean upon arrival. Kitchen well stocked with everything you need to prepare meals at the cabin. Parking can be a little tricky with larger vehicles due to the incline. We had an issue with the hot tub being cloudy but maintenance corrected the issue right away. We all enjoyed the lake although we didn’t catch much. Nice steps to the lake. Dock very nice with ample room. Cabin in close proximity to a great coffee shop and other stores. Not far from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Would Book again I’m the future.

For a family of 5 adults and 4 small kids. It’s was perfect size. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and linen. The Lake is well stocked and everyone caught a fish or two. The only minor dislikes were cobwebs (well developed, that had been there for awhile) on every piece of outside furniture and in the peek of the roof in the loft area. And all over the life jackets. Overall we enjoyed our stay at lake song and would recommend to anyone. The staff was very nice. The great smoky mountains are a treasure.

Wonderful Cabin

Beautiful and clean cabin. Right on the lake with excellent fishing and kayaking. Very quiet neighborhood. Peaceful setting. House was fully equipped and big enough for everyone to be comfortable.

Lake Song

We just spent 4 days here and overall we loved it. The area is lovely. The check in and out process is easy and the Volunteer Cabin Rental staff were very friendly. We traveled with my in laws and 3 year old. The walk way down to the lake was a little worrisome with a small one and the dock is small but he still got to enjoy fishing several days. The house was clean and decently stocked with things we needed for our stay. The driveway is very step and the entrance into the gated community is in a sharp curve but the neighbors were friendly and there was no traffic through the gated community so we were able to walk around the area and enjoy the views. My in laws even spotted a couple bear cubs.

Beautiful setting, some details need sorting

This house on Marian Lake is in an absolutely stunning setting. There are some great features, like the wrap around porch, panoramic views of the lake, and a nice open living area. The proximity to the National Park is a huge plus. Wears Valley is the perfect place to enjoy the natural setting of the GSM as opposed to the tourist traps of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The neighborhood is gated and the houses are spread out, so you can bask in the natural setting without intrusive noises. There are a few details about the property we felt misled about. Technically, this is only a one bedroom house. The bed on the main floor is in a room with walls and a door. The two other beds are above in a completely open loft. The loft banister is not to safe building code, which requires 4” or less between the balusters on all residential banisters and handrails. The balusters on this house’s loft exceed 6”-7” in most places, which is large enough for a child’s head to get stuck or potentially fall through. The banister is wobbly in a few places on the loft, attached only by a single wood screw into drywall. The two bunkbeds are in the separate game room below, and there is no interior access between the game room and the main living area above. You have to exit the house and walk around to access. For older children or adults this is fine, perhaps even desirable, but for younger children it is not workable, especially given the copious bear warnings and sightings around the property. The service from Volunteer Cabin Rentals was fine, and the two workers at the front desk were both friendly and helpful. The systems used are outdated, and they require you to visit the office to check in and check out, despite there being no physical keys and only one document needing a signature, which could easily be done online. VRBO will not allow me to disclose the cost of the canoe/kayak rental. I asked about that upon booking but got no reply. Given the price, we opted against it. Nonetheless, the boats appeared to be nice, and the lake is a serene place for a paddle or casting a line. Lastly, while we did not use it, we noticed the hot tub was leaking. The dishwasher was full of dishes upon our arrival, which is probably the result of how busy the cleaning staff is this time of year. Overall, we had a nice experience in an incredible part of our world. We plan to visit this area again.

Great Location

The cabin was just what we needed for our stay! The location was perfect- not in the busyness of town, but not far from many hiking areas. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was great after a day of hiking. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful cabin, highly recommend!

This cabin was beautiful, clean and perfect for our family. The cabin was adorable and fully functional with all the needed appliances, kitchenware and linens. The loft was perfect for our kids and they loved the game room with the double bunks. We all enjoyed the hot tub and the deck space was great! The lake was amazing as well, it was freezing though and the fish weren't biting probably because of that but it was really cool to go canoeing and kayaking with the kids and to just sit out there and listen to the birds and look at the beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately we didn't stay the entire time we planned due to the brush fire that got out of control but we were quickly reimbursed for the nights we didn't stay. Thank you very much for that! Overall it was a great place to stay and we would highly recommend to any family. It was just such a cute and cozy place, can't say enough good things about it! Also just want to throw in that it's only 15min from any attractions you might want to check out. Thank you so much!

Beautiful but roaches ruined it

Beautiful location. Check in was easy and staff were very kind to call us about the snow prior to our arrival. Unfortunately the cabin has a lot of roaches. The beds were very uncomfortable except the one in the loft. The bunk bed mattresses kept falling though to the floor since the slats move around. Our lock kept locking us out as it is a key pad. We think the batteries were bad. We will come back if the roaches are taken care of and we bring a mattress topper.

Relaxing

We enjoyed our stay at Lake Song with friends, while relaxing on the deck we saw a black bear come through looking for food. There was none to be found but great seeing a bear!

Beautiful scenic cabin

Beautiful cabin on a lake. Quiet And private. Only complaints were that We had trouble figuring out how to turn on the shower in one of the bathrooms, so we weren’t able to use that shower for a couple of days. The main issue was that the lower level (where we were going to let all of the kids stay) did not directly connect from the inside of the house. You have to actually go outside and through the lower level door. So we didn’t let the smaller kids stay downstairs, as we had planned. We just had to have them sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. Other than that, everything was great and it was a beautiful family vacation.
