This place did work for us (me, my husband, and our dog) but it was really sparse and I think if the owner were to bring in a few things (like hangers for the closets) that would go a long way to help us overlook some of the less comfortable things about the place. Here's a list of the hits and the misses.
Hits:
The owner was responsive at the time of booking (the only time we tried to communicate); in a quiet wooded area; had a kitchen; functional fireplace that we used and enjoyed; great water pressure in the shower; good size for two adults and our dog; pet friendly; good temperature control.
The Misses:
Kitchen was really sparse, only two large plates, two little plates, two bowls, two mugs, and two water glasses, and just a few pots and pans. Made cooking dinner a little challenging (would have liked an extra bowl for mixing and some extra plates for snacks, fortunately we brought some pans); nowhere to put away clothes which I might not have noticed if there had at least been some hangers in the closets; a bathroom floor mat would make sense given how prone to water damage the floors appear to be; the main room couch/futon was pretty uncomfortable; bed was just ok. Then there were cosmetic issues that, on top of those other things, kind of made me feel like we were slumming it a little like hooks pulled from the wall/drywall damage and damage to the futon. Also there wasn't any dishwashing detergent so we couldn't run the dishwasher per the checkout instructions which wasn't a problem for us but is representative of a lot of the little things that were weirdly missing.
Still, with all of this we would stay again but might look for a comparable alternative first.
