  • Escape to the Cornish coast where you can stay at this picture-postcard cottage in the sleepy village of Gorran Haven. Sleeping six guests, it’s the perfect retreat for a family or group of friends seeking a traditional seaside getaway. Gorran Haven is a quaint coastal village with pretty fishermen’s cottages, as well as one or two handy shops, a friendly pub, and a popular fish and chip shop. The sheltered, sandy beach is just 300 metres from the cottage and is a popular spot for bathers, paddleboarders, and kayakers, thanks to its calm waters. There are some lovely coastal walks from the village, including to Dodman Point (3 miles) where the views are outstanding. Nearby attractions include The Lost Gardens of Heligan (4.5 miles), the Eden Project (14 miles), and Mevagissey Harbour (3 miles).

    This coastal home-away-from-home has been beautifully decorated and styled, with comfortable furniture and little pops of colour in the soft furnishings and accessories. Enter the property via the porch, where you can kick off your sandy shoes before moving through to the welcoming lounge. Unwind here, after a day at the beach, watching the TV from the sumptuous sofa as you warm your toes by the wood burner-effect electric fire. The country-style kitchen/diner has everything needed for a self-catering break, and there is a large, wooden dining table for enjoying mealtimes as a group. Upstairs, discover three inviting bedrooms. Choose from a relaxing double, a cosy twin, or a bunk bedroom that’s ideal for children. A refreshing family bathroom rounds off the first floor.

    Outside, a few steps lead to a sunny, enclosed patio with pretty pot plants, a pergola, and furniture for al fresco entertaining. Private parking is available for two cars.
