St John - 2024

The property was exactly as advertised. Very nice, well equipped, and very comfortable. The pool area was great with lots of privacy from the neighbors. The power company in St. John’s is experiencing some issues these days so we had several power outages, but the management company, Book VI, was extremely responsive and helpful.

Stay Here - Wonderful!

Communication with the rental team was great from our first sign up until we left. The house and gardens are very well maintained - just such a pleasure in all ways. Beds comfortable, furniture clean, kitchen well stocked, grill clean and plenty of outdoor space - pool amazing. The two downstairs bedrooms are accessible from outside only but are air conditioned and lovely. Do not be concerned about the outdoor shower for the Master - it is a delight. Great location near Cruz Bay. Once you tackle the driveway - no sweat, but would recommend a 4 wheel drive.

Great House in Great Location

Beneath The Mango is a wonderful house for 2-6 people. Master is outstanding. Other two bedrooms are small, but have own bathroom with showers. Pool is great. Constant breeze cuts down on bugs. The team at BookVI is second to none. Picked up and dropped off promptly. Had no issues at all with house. Exceeded expectations. We rented our jeep through BookVI as well and it was great. Overall loved our experience and will definitely be coming back.

Under the Mango

A perfect house for our family’s first visit to St John. Drive does require a 4 wheel drive car. House was really clean and had everything we needed for a great vacation week. The pool was great. The beach chairs & snorkeling gear were nice to have for using. We would definitely stay at Under the Mango again.

Beautiful Villa

I have been to St. John many times and stayed in many villas and this was my favorite by far. It is so thoughtfully provisioned with everything one might need for a week in paradise! From coolers and beach chairs, to enough wine glasses and new cooking pans, it was lovely. The view is spectacular and the pool is just amazing. The surprise of an outdoor shower for the primary bedroom made it feel even more like a luxurious vacation. Brandon and his team are absolutely wonderful.

Beautiful Villa in a great location

We've been on St. John many times, but this was our first time in Chocolate Hole. This house was a great introduction. The house is about 10 minutes from Cruz Bay, so easily driveable for dinner. Also convenient for shopping, etc. The house itself is very comfortable and clean, and offers great views of Chocolate Hole and the sea beyond. We loved the pool and verandas and the overall feel of the place. The management company was easy to reach and quick to respond. We'd definitely stay here again.

Paradise

We absolutely loved this gorgeous villa! The home and surrounding property was beautiful, clean, comfortable, well appointed with everything you’d need and more. Waking up to that view each morning was priceless! Communication with the property manager was very easy - they were quick to respond and very considerate when we had questions! Our flight was delayed and we were late arriving to the island - they communicated with us throughout the day to help us with any concerns the delay might cause with ferries and rental cars and so forth and met us at the ferry to get us to the house even though it was quite late. They were just lovely and kind to work with! Would most definitely stay here again!

Fabulous vacation

Our week at Under the Mango Tree was fabulous. This is our 20th year in St. John and it just gets better and better. Everything about the house was perfect. Shawna was great. We had wonderful meals outside, enjoyed the pool after a day at the different beaches and all felt so rested after our stay. Would absolutely recommend this wonderful house. Thank you!

New favorite trip!

My husband and our best friends stayed for a week at Beneath the Mango Tree in early Feb '23. We had a spectacular time at the property. The perfectly decorated luxurious home was expertly located to be away from the noise of Cruz Bay, but only a quick drive when we wanted to do dinners or shopping. We rented the property's Jeep and that was so convenient to allow us to explore the island. Brandon and team were very responsive over text/email for anything we needed (like pizza delivery options, coordinating pick-ups, house questions, etc). The property has literally everything you need to explore, like snorkel gear, beach chairs, towels, bug spray or umbrellas. We would highly recommend this property and will definitely stay again!

Stupendous

Relaxing oasis that made me feel I “ got away from it all”. I felt completely at home. Enjoyed being able to stay at the house all day and having the pool was terrific. Best sunsets. Brandon and Shawna were a delight.

Love Beneath the Mango Tree

We really enjoyed our time at Beneath the Mango Tree. We especially enjoyed the pool and all the outdoor space for relaxing and dining. The check in process was very smooth and the property manager was very quick to respond to any questions. The house was well stocked, well maintained, and very clean! We would definitely stay here again!

Beneath the Mango Tree was an amazing vacation spot in St. John for our family. The view was spectacular & we saw a beautiful sunset every evening! The pool was perfect, just big enough & we loved the lights & waterfall feature. The beds were comfy & the outside shower in the master was my favorite! Such a nice added bonus! The kitchen is well appointed & we were glad to have some basics to get us started. Just a 10 minute drive to Cruz Bay, the villa’s location couldn’t have been better for us. We will definitely be back to St. John & Beneath the Mango Tree! Shawna was our host & she did a great job of getting us to the villa, showing us the house, & offering advice for our stay. She was extremely available for any questions during the week as well. This made a huge difference in renting this VRBO over others.

Beautiful!!

The house, pool, views, location is GREAT! Outdoor shower is wonderful. Very well stocked with all the things EXCEPT A GENERATOR - I say that because my husband has to sleep with a medical device -cpap machine-and the electricity was out for hours the night we arrived..went off at 10pm -3am. House can get stuffy and if a person has to have anything medical with electricity that is a problem. The outdoor areas are fantastic and getting to town/grocery is very convenient.

Incredible home, incredible island!!!

Absolutely gorgeous property! Extremely clean, beautifully decorated, every amenity you can imagine, excellent kitchen, very comfy beds, and the view cannot be beat!!! If you’re looking for a place to stay on St John, pick this property!!! The property management company couldn’t have been more professional, helpful, and friendly and truly helped make our vacation everything we dreamed of!!! We will definitely recommend this property to our friends and family and cannot wait to stay Beneath the Mango Tree again!

Amazing views & Spectacular House on St. John

I can’t say enough positive things about this beautiful property on St. John! The property manager (Dabney) was always responsive, even when we got lost the 1st night making our way home from the grocery! The house was extremely well appointed. There weren’t any extras we had to go purchase. From the kitchen utensils, to snorkeling gear, to beach chairs, to speakers for great music, to candles, to placemats & lots of comfortable furniture for the back porch. The outdoor shower….we’ll, you have to experience for yourself! I’m in love! We watched the gorgeous sunsets with a drink @ the pool, not to mention taking a refreshing dip after morning yoga on the expansive covered porch. Within 15 minutes to most beaches & 10 minutes to numerous places to have dinner & drinks. It was just my husband but it was wonderful to go to one of the spare, cool rooms with blackout curtains to take an afternoon nap. The only slightly negative is there is a huge close hill & curve where trucks travel from 7-7 & would beep there horns warning traffic they were coming (which is completely necessary). We rented a 4x4 Jeep to get up the steep driveway to the residence & you definitely need it. We had a couples massage that was THE BEST massage my husband & I have ever had. Completely reasonable pricing by Vitamin Sea VI Spa. We would 100% recommend “Under the Mango Tree”!!!
