Obviously devastated from last year's hurricane season, we drove past a dump trailer and sand bags to enter the property. Our unit also had an unraveled hose greeting us at the door. The newly renovated interior was pleasant until further inspection. The description online stated that the unit would have a washer in driver, it did not. The bedroom window was lacking top locks and the bathrooms had visibility issues to the exterior when showering - namely clear glass at chest height. The management tried to dismiss my concerns that the online description was false and that the security issues were an issue for my family. We left immediately and did not return, luckily found a sympathetic local hotel that could quickly house us at 10pm at night after traveling all day. I am disputing my charges, but continue to receive emails and text messages from the management. In my phone discussions, the concerns brought up were met with less than favorable communications, some would say rude, others might say hostile. Additionally, I clearly stated that we left the key on the table the first night and would not return. The manager then proceeded to send me emails and texts over the next three days telling me of lying and that we were still occupying his unit. I have clear photos of the issues and VRBO is aware of this situation. I hope this property reemerges successfully from these storms, but honesty is important - this was a nightmare.
