« This is a top class hotel, not inexpensive but worth the cost. It is actually a historic hotel built in 1917, but rebuilt in 2018 so everything is new and modern. Every room has a private onsen bath. Because if its long history, it has the best location right in front of the Unzen Jigoku geothermal area -- every terrace room has a direct overview of the Jigoku. There are 20 terrace rooms and 4 villas which are larger and higher grade. We spent 2 nights, one in a terrace room and one in a villa....
