Our group of 9 friends arrived for an 8 day stay and attempted to follow the check in instructions.. there was an 8 digit code given and the lock box did not work. Thankfully the caretaker was there and came to the gate to let us in. He had the keys to give to us so we were able to get them without contacting the host. We took a quick inventory and headed to Walmart so we could buy more plates, silverware, knives, paper products, a blender, and our groceries. We took these things with us when we left but I thought it odd that the property only had the bare minimum considering the cost of this rental. And 1 towel per person. The noise here is not relaxing. Because it sits in a valley below the main road the echo of all the air brakes from the sugar cane trucks is very loud and consistent throughout the day and night. Also neighbors with barking dogs. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax, this isn't it. There's no land to walk around on the property so what you see if so you get. There is no discount or ability to use Atami without paying for a day pass as well.
While we don't have an issue with outdoor creatures it was a bit shocking to be visited by 5 raccoons every night. The kitchen is completely outdoors without any cupboards to keep food safe. It was very annoying to have to keep all food separated from the kitchen and worrying about the trash constantly. Zero cleaning and no laundry to get our towels cleaned without asking the host which happened1xin8days
