Very disappointing stay
Unfortunately, our recent stay at Sonesta ES Suites Toronto Markham was extremely disappointing due to multiple issues.
Upon arrival, our key card did not work, and I had to return to the front desk twice. Eventually, a staff member had to come upstairs to resolve it. When we finally entered the room, we noticed the refrigerator was leaking water.
The most serious issue occurred overnight. After sleeping in the room, I woke up with numerous bite marks on my body (legs, back, shoulders, and arms). Nothing in my routine, food, or activities had changed, and I have never experienced allergic reactions before. I also took photos documenting this. We contacted the front desk immediately, as we were very concerned about possible bedbugs. After this, we were moved to a different room.
Unfortunately, problems continued. The phone in the room was not working, the Wi-Fi connection was unreliable, and the stovetop stopped working unexpectedly. When I asked if the bedding could be changed earlier in our stay, I was told housekeeping would not change sheets unless guests stayed five nights, even though our stay was several nights long. This was surprising and not something I’ve experienced at other hotels.
Additionally, parking was charged at $5 per night, totaling $30 for our stay, which was unexpected. I have stayed at many hotels across the GTA (including Toronto, Niagara, Vaughan, Scarborough, and Mississauga) and have never been charged for parking before
