This hotel was wonderfully comfortable and reasonably-priced when you consider the comfort of the rooms, the A/C, the breakfast buffet and transport from the airport (not to mention great wifi - which is available in much of Peru but is usually mediocre or unconnective). It's a relatively new space, so everything looks great - I hope the management always keeps it like that! The staff are very courteous and capable, unlike many other lodging spots in the city of Trujillo. The manager is especially able and polite and he works hard to maintain this gem of a hotel in Trujillo. We usually travel more budget than this but this place ended up being a wonderful value for a clean, modern, and comfortable stay.
In addition to the A/C, there is also an elevator, which in Peru generally means that a hotel is pretty good considering they made they investment to get an elevator.
The staff could be more honest/forthcoming when you ask them for touristic details (e.g. how to make it to Chan Chan on your own, independent of a travel agency). They simply recommend you to talk with the travel agency next door to the hotel, which makes me think they are in cahoots with said agency. I wish they had been objective and more helpful on that front but they're otherwise incredibly nice and helpful.
