With transit nearby, you're only 20 minutes from downtown, including BC Place Stadium, Rogers Arena, Convention Centre and Canada Place. Convenience meets heritage in the heart of East Van!

The Space

Welcome to Hewton House! The space is a self-contained suite spread across three levels of our character house.

You'll enter through the front door into a private foyer on the main floor, with stairs leading up to the second floor. This is the heart of the home, featuring:
• a comfortable living area with Roku TV
• fully equipped kitchen with dining area
• furnished outdoor deck with barbecue off the kitchen
• bathroom (sink and original clawfoot tub with shower)
• separate water closet (toilet only)
• Bedroom 1 (the Turret Room) with a queen bed and portable air conditioning unit.

Up another set of stairs is the third floor. Tucked away at the highest point of the house, this level contains:
• Bedroom 2 (the Twin Room) with two twin beds and desk
• Bedroom 3 (the Balcony Room) with a queen bed and balcony

With two private decks, you’ll enjoy a dazzling vista with views of Downtown and the North Shore Mountains.

​Located just half a block from Commercial Drive (Little Italy), you are in one of the most walkable spots in Canada, with a Walk Score of 98 (Walker's Paradise!), and surrounded by abundant coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques. For travelling further afield, buses are frequent and the SkyTrain is just a short walk away.

Street parking immediately outside is Permit Only and regularly enforced. However, free, non-permit street parking is available in the same block.

Please note that the home contains another suite below with a family who are long-term tenants (there is a connecting door between the two suites on the first floor that locks on both sides). We are looking for respectful guests who value a peaceful, family friendly environment. Strictly no parties or loud gatherings.

The suites also share a central air system, and due to the downstairs tenant's severe allergies we ask that guests do not use colognes/perfumes/body sprays during their stay.

As an authentic 1910 Edwardian property, this home is full of the beautiful quirks that come with its age (including a shared central air system and original fir floors). Some sound transfer between the units can be expected due to the wood framing and floors.

Please also be aware that this suite is vertical by nature: there is a staircase from the foyer to the living area, and a second set of stairs to the top-floor bedrooms.
