The house is in a great location close to the beach and an small pier with an inlet at the back. Has a fire pit. We really like the screened in porch. The kitchen was well equipped. The house has a musty smell on the first floor. The wood on the outside hasn't been taken care of and had a bad smell when you go out the front door. The front stood is rotten and someone could have fallen through. They did come out and do a quick repair. The screened in porch needs work. One door wouldn't close. The other door the screen or not connected. The garage / game room was unusable. The musty smell was terrible and the lighting is poor. The bathrooms are in need of updating.

Overall, we liked the setup of the house as well as the proximity to the beach. We have a 2 year old toddler so we especially liked that the bottom bunk was on the floor so no risk of a fall and there were also a bunch of sand toys in the garage. That said, we did have some grievances with the house that we shared with the company. When we arrived, there were cigarette butts as well as other little bits of garbage in the sand of the front yard. There were also some broken items in the backyard. We also noted that one side of the hammock was broken - it was still somewhat usable but probably unsafe. Inside the house, the comforter for one of the beds as well as some of the sheets and bed skirts were noticeably dirty and had to be washed before use. There was also a lot of dust and some small items and bits of garage under the beds. The white painted stairs were dirty and all the floors could use a good mopping. In the upstairs master bedroom, there was mildew (possibly mold) in the shower. The door between the Jack and Jill bathroom and the room with bunk beds did not latch correctly and so could not be effectively locked. The double doors to the front deck were extremely difficult to close. In the garage, there were leftovers in the refrigerator. In summary, considering the cost of the house, we were very disappointed to find it so dirty and with several items requiring repair.

Don’t waste your money on this property or management company

This property is poorly managed and dirty. When we arrived all the floors were dirty to the point that my feet were black after an hour of being there. The steps were covered in dirt and didn’t look like they had been cleaned the entire summer season. We also found a pair of girls underwear wedged between the bed and the sheet, so it was clear the sheets were not changed over between guests. The front door did not lock because it was broken and there were ants all over the kitchen and living room. The furniture was all stained and the chair in the basement smelled moldy. The floors in the bathrooms were covered in dirt and hair. There was a broom in the house but it had no dust pan. We had someone come from the management company come to change the sheets and clean the floors but it was just a quick superficial clean. We also had them bring a broom and dust pan. The location is nice because it’s close to the beach but the beach path is covered in sand spurs so watch out when you are walking the path. There were also sand spurs all through the yard so we couldn’t have the kids playing in the back yard. The garage is stocked with sand toys, bocci balls and corn hole but we didn’t use any of the outdoor games because of the sand spurs. Overall we were disappointed with the property because of how dirty it was and the inability to use the yard because of the sand spurs. It would be a great place to stay if it was maintained properly.

Peaceful and Quiet

Property is in a very nice location on a quiet beach. Upon arrival the exterior bushes and shrubbery need some work, hard to see when pulling out onto the road. House is well kept and nice. There have been many upgrades to the home yet many that are needed. Bathrooms are very outdated and showers are extremely small. Door knobs on many doors were very loose and need retightened. Plenty of space for anyone! Kitchen is beautiful! Back porch is screened in and very nice to enjoy. Also the dock is nice to fish off of. Plenty of parking for multiple cars. Overall very nice home, only 2 blocks from the beach. Path to beach is directly in front of house which is very convenient. Would stay her again if we decide to visit VA Beaches. Only downfall to location is you’re about 15 mins to your dinning and shopping, but we didn’t mind at all.

Family Trip

We were in town visiting family members. The check-in process was easy and the instructions were emailed and text to us so we had all of the information needed to access the home. We were happy that we were so close to the beach and local beach market. We enjoyed our visit and can’t wait to come back again next year!

Lovely house close to the beach

Multigenerational family vacation- it was great! Lovely house, the proximity to the beach was great and having the backyard to do s’mores or catch a fish was perfect! The only thing I’d say is one of the bathrooms seemed tired and definitely due for an update. Also, it would be super helpful if the broom had a pan and the vacuumed actually had good suction. For parents with young kids, plan to bring a gate if you can as the stairs are super tempting for young toddlers to explore. Overall, our stay was wonderful and the staff was very responsive!

Great location not very clean

We enjoyed our stay but had to clean the unit upon arrival and property management was not flexible considering the amount time spent and the work we had to do (dirty bathrooms hair on sheets and counter etc)

Carpet was dirty. Sofa was dirty. Kitchen counters were dirty. Two of the toilets are coming out of the floor. The rug in the dining room is curling up, causing a trip hazard. Good news, there was a crab trap there, although not quite crab season.

Great Location for the Price!

Overall, the rental was great! We had some issues with the property that we addressed with the management company and they took care of them right away. It was an older home and had a couple of areas that could use some minor repair (clock/temperature panel on the stove wasn't fully secured to the back of the stove, the downstairs bathroom floor was a little uneven and the toilet wasn't secured), but was clean and had necessary supplies in kitchen/bathrooms for our stay. Very short, easy walk to the beach, and the screened porch and backyard area overlooking the canal were great! Other than some of those minor issues, we enjoyed our stay in Sandbridge, and was a good fit for 4 couples.
