My friend and I came for the weekend to ride some of the beautiful roads in the driftless area. The cabin was the perfect retreat to top off a fantastic weekend getaway.
Bright and airy pine cabin with everything you need for a peaceful getaway. So many stars at night! The trails were a huge bonus as we love hiking with our pup. Canât wait to come back.
We love the cabins at Driftless Creek! (We've stayed at Vireo and Towhee.) They are simple yet beautiful. An invitation into quiet slowing down. Easy access to long hikes nearby. Dog friendly. Well appointed. We'll keep coming back!
This is our second time staying in Towhee cabin. We love the screened-in porch area for breakfast, and small touches like provided Wonderstate coffee (local to area). Iâm sure weâll be back again!
The cabin is a perfect place to get away. Rodney's property is nestled down the road and up the hill. It feels like you are all alone in the world, yet still a quick jaunt to Viroqua for incredible food and activities. We were here for a week and the drive and views never grew old. The cabin itself is GORGEOUS and you can feel the love that was built into it. Rodney was receptive and responsive and made the stay absolutely perfect.
Another amazing stay in the best cabins in the Viroqua area!
We returned to the Driftless Creek cabins for a second stay last week, and once again had a wonderful time. The cabins are designed for the comfort and convenience of visitors, provisioned with super comfy mattresses, Wonderstate whole-bean coffee, toiletries, and everything you might need in the kitchen if you plan on cooking a meal or two on-site. We didn't use the woodstove or firepit, but the hosts have also prepared kindling and wood for guests who wish to do so. The walking trails just beyond each cabin are absolutely wonderful! The bergamot was in full bloom during our visit, and the prairie smelled amazing. The Merlin birdsong ID app on my phone got a workout, and it was so nice to bring our dogs (they had a blast on our many walks). The cabin has a ton of books as well as a hammock in which to read them, and it was nice to hear my husband play the guitar again. We lost connection to the Wifi once, and Rodney was super-prompt and helpful in getting it restored quickly. Other highlights of our visit: hiking the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, dining at Kos in Wesby, and attending the local radio station's (WDRT) first block party - what a great community! We adore the area and hope to return again soon. Thank you, Rodney & family, for being such exceptional hosts!
My husband and I did not see another human being over the 4 nights we stayed. Exactly what we wanted! We knew Rodney was available at any point but the cabin was well equipped so had no need to contact him. The trails are well laid out with random benches to just sit and listen.
We would love to come back someday!
Cabin is in the woods and in the middle of an area with some great fly fishing. The design was nice, everything worked well and I would come back. Nice touches like balnkets/books, reading lights, hammock etc that make it really ease to like the stay.
This awesome cabin at the Driftless creek is an absolute must stay! Wonderfully private place to make you feel like you're away from it all, but close enough to town to go to dinner after a day of fly fishing. The cabin has great decor and amenities. Everything is clean. The shower has really good water pressure, which is nice for a remote cabin. We will definitely be staying here again!
This cabin is so relaxing! We enjoyed our time away to unplug for a weekend. Will definitely go stay again. Thank you for sharing your property with us.
We stayed at this same cabin last winter. It's adorable, clean, well appointed, comfortable, and snuggled in the woods of the beautiful driftless region.
We only have stars to give.
The cabin is secluded and relaxing just as advertised. One other cabin on the property was occupied during our stay but the cabins are spaced well enough apart that you don't even notice. We would love to return and experience the property and area in all seasons.
If you are looking for seclusion, this is great. So quiet and the nature was beautiful. Loved the porch, loft and the fire pit outside is a nice touch also. We brought my daughter's 2 dogs and they absolutely loved it.
Off the beaten path log cabin. Very neat and clean. Close to trout streams, wineries, hiking, and micro breweries. The cabin is set in the beautiful hills and valleys of the driftless area where time slows down and as quietness settles in. A note for those unaccustom to some country roads, you will be on gravel roads for several miles as you approach the cabin. Well worth the car wash when you get home.
Another great stay at Rodney's beautiful property. Birds singing, flowers blooming, the cabin as sweet and comfortable as can be. Pup enjoyed it as much as we did. Thank you!
My sister and I had an incredible weekend staying here! These cabins are very impressive, and have everything you will need. It is a beautiful quiet location with trails right outside your door. Rodney was a great host and replied right away any time we had a question! I do highly suggest having 4 Wheel Drive as the drive to get up to the cabins is a steep incline, but it is worth it! Thanks for the great stay, I will definitely be back!
My husband and I plus our two large dogs stayed at this cabin for 3 nights. Check-In was a breeze! Cabin had everything we needed to cozy up for a few days. Our dogs had space to run and we explored a couple of the trails onsite. We utilized the grill to make dinners and it worked out perfectly. The Adirondack chair was so comfy to enjoy my morning coffee made from the most delicious and fresh coffee beans! The water they say is delicious and it is INDEED delicious! So fresh and ice cold. Shower was very relaxing as well and we enjoyed a nice fire in the wood burning stove each day, it really heated the place up QUICK! This is a great place to get away from everyday fast paced life. I will add - make sure you bring games, books, puzzles, a laptop for movies if you wish - to keep you busy in the winter. Fridge was big enough to hold our grocery items but we also brought a cooler with ice which worked out great. I will add - Driveway is very steep but we had no issues with our truck. We also ventured into town to take our dogs to the dog park and to have lunch & explore a few shops on main st. - it was about 20 minutes drive so not bad at all. Thank You Rodney for a wonderful stay!
