These pictures don't capture the size of these majestic whales. The gray whales reach a length of about 52 feet, a weight of 36 tons and an age of 50-60 years old. They were covered with barnacles and their surface felt like rubber. #bajacalifornia #whalewatching (Feb 2017)

Mom and baby leave after staying and playing with us a solid 15 minutes!
I spy a whale eye! When Gray Whales are swimming their eyes are oriented downwards because they're bottom feeders. So for a Gray Whale to see a different perspective, they have to roll around, spyhop, and change their body position!
