The cottage is ideally situated in the heart of the lively village of Windermere, with a fantastic choice of pubs, restaurants and independent shops just metres away. A fabulous base for keen walkers, the shore of Windermere is just a mile away. From here you can catch a steamer, cruise across the lake, and visit Beatrix Potter’s house at Hill Top (4.5 miles by steamer). Other local attractions include The World of Beatrix Potter in nearby Bowness-on-Windermere (1 mile), the Lakes Aquarium at the southern tip of Windermere (10 miles) and Brockhole on Windermere (2.5 miles), which is home to a historic house and gardens, with plenty of activities including a treetop trek, boating, kayaking, archery and mini golf.

Entering this airy, stylish and welcoming property, a staircase leads you up from the ground floor to the first-floor landing and into the main open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This is a fresh, bright and friendly double-height living space with a high window flooding the room with light. The main lounge space has been tastefully decorated and provides a wonderful area for you to sit back and unwind, complete with comfortable seating, a Smart TV, DVD and a useful wall map of the area. The attractive dining area is a great spot for sharing a favourite meal, for chatting about the day and for preparing the next day’s adventures. The galley kitchen is fully equipped with a double oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave and a fridge/freezer. Exploring the first floor further, you will find a twin bedroom, a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and the main shower room complete with electric shower, sink and WC. The narrow staircase leads up to the second floor in the eaves of the house, with exposed beams and low sloping ceilings adding to the character of the property. A mezzanine balcony looks out over the lounge and makes a lovely space to get away with a good book or for children to use as a play area. The second floor also features a super-king-size room with a low ornate beam over the entrance and an en-suite bathroom – this bedroom can be made up as a twin on request at time of booking. Finally, the second floor has a games room with a pool table, washing machine and dryer.
