This condo is lovely, clean, and perfectly located within walking to ski lifts and village. Such a beautiful view of the ski hill and the lighted trees! The property hot tub is very nice as well. We have nothing negative to say about this stay and would highly recommend this property.
We really enjoyed our vacation here - the condo was clean and within walking distance to everything. My only complaint was that there wasnât any hand soap (in the kitchen or bathroom). Other than that - great stay!
Overall, this property was perfect for our situation with 1 kid in ski camp, one snowboarding teen, two working / skiing adults and Grandma too. We could all come and go as needed to the lifts, the shops, the hot tub. Plus we had everything we needed and more to make our Thanksgiving week great! Even a crock pot!!!
We love staying at this location. It's very well kept and I love that it has been upgraded since past stays. It's very welcoming, clean and provides privace between 2 couples. It comes with all of the necessary amenities. My only complaint is the parking in the building. We requested a late check which was approved by the property manager however we were not informed thar we had to pay $16 for the parking by leaving late. When we tried to leave, they parking system required we make a payment but it would not process our card to take the payment. We used the button to request help from the parking attendant and she ranted on and on about how we are leaving late and that we needed to pay for that. We were only wanting help to pay so we could leave but it was difficult to get through to her. Needless to say at this point there was a long line of cars behind us. Overall, the late check out was not worth the hassle of the parkiing dilema. All throughout our stay, we noticed there was always a car ahead of us that could not enter the parking garage. The QR code system did not seem to work well throughout our stay.
Our family had owned a condo for over 40 years in WP. This is the first time we stayed in a condo that was not owned by our family. Great location, great condo! Very clean, spacious, well-maintained and well-decorated! It was very convenient to have a washer and dryer in the condo. Pre-Paid for parking...highly suggest to pre-pay to get your code ahead of time. It takes a few times to get used to the parking garage (operated independently from WP Escapes). Community hot tub outside is large and fun. Ski locker on first floor makes it easy to get/drop off skis each day. Didn't use the Alexa...unplugged it for our stay. Not needed.
A couple of minor suggestions, but certainly didn't affect our overall stay.
1) Many visitors are from out of town. We do not know the cable channel listings for Winter Park. This is very minor. The TV in the living room had an onscreen guide, but it is annoying to always scroll thru the whole guide to find channels/see tv listings. The TV in the master bedroom did not have a guide onscreen. It would be helpful to have a copy of the channel listings from the cable company printed in the unit OR at least include in an email to guests before visiting...so they can print out to bring if they would like.
2) Another minor issue: the only clock is on the stove in the kitchen. While we had cell phones to look at the time in the bedroom, it is annoying to roll over and pick up your phone to try to see the time. It would be nicer if each bedroom had a clock.
3) The cushions on the living room couch do slide forward (another reviewer stated this as well) because it is a sleeper couch. It is just something to watch for when sitting on the living room couch.
Again, all of these are very minor suggestions and in no way impacted our overall feeling of the condo. We really enjoyed our stay in this condo! Wonderful views to look out and see the mountain. We highly recommend this condo and would definitely want to stay there again!
This is a tremendous condo, very clean, all as stated, very large ski locker, and very nice hot-tub. We tried to have the management company replace a toaster that did not work, but after a call, an email, and a text, we never heard from them. This really was a minor inconvenience, but we had brought bagels up to toast and couldn't. There could be a few more glasses of various sizes in the condo, and we could also hear a loud snorer in the adjoining bedroom. These were all very minor things, but trying to be honest. All-in-all, this is a great 2-bedroom condo and made for a fantastic ski get-away.
Overall we had a wonderful time 2/9/22-2/13/22. The condo and the building was great. The coffee maker is a traditional "Mr. Coffee" that uses basket filters (pro tip: this place has a lifetime supply of coffee filters, so dont worry about buying some for your stay). I will divide up the review into the 'not so great' and 'great' sections that I hope would help others.
Not so great:
-Communication about the parking garage will come a few days before your stay. I didnt know this and reached out several times before getting the correct answer. Parking garage access is handled by a 3rd party. It is best to print your pass because you will scan it every time you enter & exit the parking garage.
-Coffee is provided but only a 2 day supply was provided to us. We purchased more coffee at a nearby store, so no big deal.
-Kitchen utensils - Decently provided Kitchen except the ONLY measuring cup was a Pyrex 2 Cup glass. The measuring spoons provided were a teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon and 1/4 teaspoon. It would have been nice to have a silicone spatula as well. Overall not bad, but additional measuring cups would be a good idea.
-During our stay one of the elevators on Founders Pointe side was out of service.
- This unit is on the opposite end of a horseshoe corridor from the elevators, so for those with mobility concerns, it might be a pretty good hike.
-Building is not Ski-In/Out. It is a 4 minute walk to the resort. I knew this but dont expect to strap on your ski's and ski out of the building to the ski lifts.
-Smart TV in living room - Main bedroom had a really old TV and the second bedroom did not have any TV.
-Bathroom - One is attached to the main bedroom but the second bedroom does not have one attached (it is shared with the main living room area). Doors are a little thin, so toilet time can be heard by those in the living room/kitchen.
-No condo specific instructions provided - It would have been nice to have an info packet to tell us how to operate the TV and the couch bed. I could see confusion on how to setup and close the couch bed, so it would be nice to show how to set it up and fold it back.
The great: The items above were all very minor and It was a great stay.
- Heated parking garage was really nice.
-Condo was very well updated and equipped
-View overlooks the frozen ice skating pond and the main resort but the porch gets snowy/icy and there is no mat at the door to wipe feet/shoes.
I would stay here again for sure!
This property was exactly as billed, pictures were completely up to date. We had no troubles with parking garage. Dishwasher seems to only function on Heavy Duty setting, beds could be a little firmer but overall this is a great unit. We unplugged Alexa the minute we got there; thanks but no thanks BigTech... They bombarded us with emails on things to do which was annoying but easy to delete and maybe folks who have never been there might appreciate it.
Great place in scenic location good for all seasons. Condo was perfect for our family. Kitchen had all we needed. Decor was pleasant to the eye.
Only issues we had is with parking not always working with our qr code nor phone number: had to call to have someone open the garage for us multiple times. They were having some technical issues with that and also in our building the outside jacuzzi and the fireplace didnât work- also some technical issues. However, maintenance knew of the issues and they were working on it.
Nice property with underground parking. Unfortunately important information was not shared, while unneeded info about unneeded promotions, that actually were not available, were shared with us frequently. The fact that we had to pay extra for parking and that the the hot tubs and pool would be closed were not shared. How to get to the lifts and where to park, although obvious when we arrived, was not shared despite requesting this. The locker room for skis information was not communicated. The snow conditions and limitations on the mountain, like food service, were not shared. Instead we received promotional info about a health club in Fraser that was completely booked, horse back riding and wine tasting, all off site that we were not interested in. Multiple times we received info about this stuff. The contract said that there would be a $25 per night credit if the hot tubs were closed. They were under renovation and closed, yet this was not credited when asked. They said they were closed due to COVID. But they were also under construction and inoperable. They chose to pick the reason that benefited them, not us. Also no housekeeping service was provided. Despite not providing any of these services and charging for parking this information was only shared at the last minute with us. The rooms themselves were good, although some light fixtures were broken and bulbs not replaced. Dishwasher rack was also broken and laundry noisily squeaked and needed lubrication. This is the second time we stayed here and both times during our stay the building fire alarm went off requiring everyone in the building to evacuate for around an hour while the fire department responded. Glad I was not in the shower or asleep when this happened. There is no one working at the building so it takes a long time to correct false alarms like this at great inconvenience to all. Again, no explanations or apology, just more promotions every day in our email.
We had a great time at Founderâs Pointe 4475. It is close to everything. All the furnishings are comfortable and well kept. The management company was very responsive to our two requests-one for a mixer, and the other for a new coffee pot. Winter Park is a fabulous place for a family vacation.
Everything was great! There were a few inaccuracies about beds, there was no bunk bed. But before we arrived and double checked they offered discount on stay, which was nice. Nice location and everything you need.
