« We highly recommend Vince and Shirley’s guesthouse. The room was immaculate and nicely decorated, fully equipped, great bedding. The breakfast was very well cooked and generously served, in a pretty dining room overlooking a well kept garden. « If you’re looking for a relaxing, peaceful getaway, we highly recommend booking The Retreat. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and helpful staff made us feel welcome. « The breakfast was lovely and plentiful, whilst the parking was adequate as there were few guests. The room could of benefitted from having lampshades on the wall lights, there was a rouge hair in the bath and the dressing gowns were washed with too much detergent, thus not as soft as you might expect for five star accommodation, At the time of booking a table, the menu differed considerably from that seen online, in addition to the price having been increased. « Lovely apartment in great location, lots of space and really comfortable beds. Had a fabulous stay here. »

« Our room was on ground floor with a hot tub. Facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. Some elements were a little tired. Staff were outstanding and responsive to all requests and questions. Nice dining area and presentation. Great central location to Grasmere village. Our only issue is that parking can be a lottery - but staff were happy to help. »
