This property was *EXACTLY* what we were hoping for, plus many bonuses we weren't expecting. Exhausted from the technology overload of daily life, we were looking to "unplug." No phone, no internet, no TV - just us and mother nature. Cell signal died as soon as we started down the gravel road (Co 334) and the adventure began! Surrounded by beautiful scenery, crossing several small streams and admiring the land, we all found ourselves smiling. During the 3.5 miles to the cabin we saw exactly ZERO other vehicles or people - perfect! The cabin sits in a clearing, across 2 small stream beds, with ample parking for a dozen vehicles or more. We easily backed to one of two sets of steps for unloading. Entry was easy via keybox and the code that the host had provided earlier. Entering the cabin we were greeted with tasteful Christmas decorations, making the cabin feel much more like a home than a vacation spot. The king bed in the loft was one of the best we've found in any of our stays. Bedding and towels were fresh, clean, and appeared almost new. Couch, loveseat and chair are all recliners and were super comfortable, making it tough to get up, and easy to nap :) Hot water was immediate in both the kitchen and bathroom, a welcome feature on cool mornings. Kitchen was well appointed with standard plates/bowls/glasses,etc but also any gadget and cleaning supply one might need during their stay. A short walk/drive from the cabin is the Black River, and an awesome gravel bar for those who enjoy rock collecting. Guests have use of a gazebo by the river, complete with grill. We traveled into the nearby town (Annapolis) the next day, and had an out of this world lunch, which came from...... a liquor store. Seriously, if you ever find yourself in Annapolis, MO, eat at "Liquor Locker!"
Bottom line: this is a property we want to book regularly. Property/setting was beautiful, cabin was clean and well cared for, and the host was responsive and helpful. Can't ask for much more.
