Family house near the Parkway, 10 min to Biltmore

Summary:

Spread out in a quiet hilltop house where everyone ends the day on the big sectional in the upstairs family room. Built for families and multigenerational groups: main-level king bedroom and full bath, Pack 'n Play, pet-friendly, free parking on premises. 10 to 12 minutes to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate entrance, one mile to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Reviews keep saying the same things: "plenty of room," "quiet at night," and "exactly as pictured."



The Space:

The house is two stories. Downstairs: the king bedroom and bath, kitchen, dining, and living room. Upstairs: two more bedrooms, the second bath, and the family room everyone ends up in.



The upstairs family room is the room reviews talk about: an oversized sectional that seats the whole group, a 47-inch Roku TV, and board games on the shelf. Every bedroom has its own Roku TV too. No local channels on any of them.



The kitchen has a Keurig and a drip coffee maker; we leave starter pods, so bring grounds if you prefer drip. Shampoo, body wash, laundry and dishwasher detergent, and cooking basics are stocked to get you started; bring your own staples if you plan to cook every night. The dining table expands to seat 8.



Sleeping:

Bedroom 1: king bed, main level. Its bath is in two rooms: a tub, shower, and vanity room off the bedroom that connects to a toilet room, which also opens to the hallway for everyone else.

Bedroom 2: king bed, upstairs

Bedroom 3: two twin beds, each with a pull-out trundle, upstairs

Upstairs bath: tub and shower, hall access



Out front there is a porch; out back, a deck and a small unfenced side yard. All of it is private to the house.



For families and work: Pack 'n Play, children's books and toys, a safety gate at the top of the stairs, and a dedicated workspace with Wi-Fi throughout.



The entire home is yours, apart from a few locked owner closets and the garage.

Guest Access:

You have the entire house, porch, deck, and side yard to yourselves. Park up to 3 cars in the paved and level driveway; the garage is not available and the HOA does not allow street parking. Self check-in with a keypad smart lock on the front door; your code arrives before check-in. 5 steps from the driveway to the front door; the main-level bedroom and bath mean no stairs once inside for anyone who needs that. Check-in is at 4 pm and checkout at 10 am. Earlier or later is sometimes possible depending on the cleaning schedule; ask and I'll check.



The Neighborhood:

Winterwind is a 28-house hillside subdivision east of the city, quiet at night and close to the highway without hearing it. Drive times:



-Blue Ridge Parkway entrance and the Folk Art Center: 1 mile, about 3 minutes

-Ingles grocery: 3 minutes

-Highland Brewing: about 10 minutes

-Biltmore Estate entrance: 10 to 12 minutes

-Downtown Asheville: 10 to 12 minutes

-River Arts District: about 15 minutes

-West Asheville (Haywood Rd): 15 minutes

-Asheville airport (AVL): 20minutes



Getting Around:

You'll want a car. I-40 is 3 minutes away, so most of Asheville is a 10 to 20 minute drive. Uber and Lyft serve the neighborhood; about 10 minutes to downtown. Parking downtown is easiest in the city garages on Rankin Ave.



Other Things to Note:

- Pets are welcome with an $85 fee per pet. If the booking form will not accept the right number of pets, message me and I'll sort it.

- Parking is in the driveway only, 3 cars. Street parking is not allowed in the neighborhood and the HOA fines it, so plan for 3 vehicles or fewer.

- Coffee: Keurig and a drip maker. We leave starter pods; bring grounds if you prefer drip.

- Black bears live in these hills. Keep trash inside and doors closed. At checkout, bag kitchen trash and leave it in the kitchen; nothing goes outside.

- Quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am. This is a residential street with full-time neighbors on both sides.

- There is a camera over the garage that faces the driveway.

- The neighborhood road is hilly and winding for the last half mile. Any car handles it; no 4WD needed.

- The yard is small and not fenced, so dogs go out on a leash.
