When we arrived, had a little trouble finding our unit. I messaged the host. They promptly answered & helped find the right place. Make sure you get building number & unit number. I walked in to the bed clearly slept in, unmade, dirty towels in the bathroom floor, trash still in the cans, ect. I messaged the host again. They were quick to respond. Said they tried getting ahold of their housekeeper, that this was not like her so something must've happened. I asked if they had another unit, they said yes, but if this one was not cleaned, the other one probably wasn't either. So i asked them to just refund me. They apologized & it said refund was initated immediately, but that it could take up to 15 days. I'm like wow, this was a quick in & out trip, only 1 night. Before bed that night, BOTH payments I had made for that night had showed back in my account. I was shocked. So while I feel this is probably not how this host usually rolls, the place was super cute/nice, ultimately it is their responsibilty to be sure thier property is ready for renters. There should be some kind of check system in place to avoid this. Like house keeper sends a message when she's done or something. Anything. Kudos for promptly responding, doing what they could to right the situation, & super quickly refunding my money. Just was super inconvient for us when a missed, planned phone call or text could've completely prevented it. Hope the house keeper is ok.
