Once an old tool shed, the Stabbin Cabin is now decorated with many of the original tools it once stored and that helped build things on Grant Island. The tools are securely attached to the walls and give this cozy cabin a character and history all its own.

HOW YOUR ARRIVAL WORKS:



When you arrive, we meet you at the mainland parking area and bring you and your belongings to Grant Island in our pontoon boat.



We guide you to the cabin, give you an overview of everything you need, and provide an orientation for the electric boats. We remain available throughout your stay to answer questions and help whenever needed.



The boat ride from the mainland parking area to Grant Island takes approximately 5 minutes.



COOKING AND FOOD:



There is no indoor kitchen access. However, we have made it possible for you to cook and clean outdoors.



Your private cooking setup includes a BBQ grill, hot plate, utensils and essential cookware. The outdoor utility sink may be used for washing dishes and cleaning.



The Stabbin Cabin has its own private dorm-size mini fridge with a small freezer. If you need additional refrigerator or freezer space, let us know and we may be able to provide it.



We supply Cafe Bustelo coffee, a selection of teas, cups and utensils so you can enjoy your morning coffee in the Adirondack chairs or hammock.



We recommend bringing the food, snacks and personal supplies you expect to need during your stay.



ELECTRIC BOATS AND ISLAND TRANSPORTATION:



Two electric boats are assigned to and shared between Stabbin Cabin #1 and Stabbin Cabin #2:



• One 6-seat electric boat

• One rowboat with an electric motor and oars



After your orientation, the boats may be used for leisurely lake exploring, fishing, and transportation between Grant Island and the mainland parking area.



Electric-boat use after dark is not recommended.



If you do not want to operate an electric boat, we remain available to give you pontoon-boat rides between the island and mainland.



Guests must follow all operating, docking, charging, life-jacket and safety instructions provided during the boat orientation.



SWIMMING, FIRES AND STARGAZING:



The beach area has a full-size lakeside diving board and is a wonderful place for swimming and floating. We provide floats and beach toys for guests to enjoy.



There is also a lakeside fire pit for evening campfires. We do not supply clean, dry-cut firewood, but several nearby stores sell it.



Grant Island’s dark Adirondack skies make the island an amazing place for stargazing.



ADVENTURE RENTALS:



We also rent pontoon boats, Jet Skis, ATVs, UTVs, kayaks, SUPs, paddleboats, fishing equipment, sailboats and other recreational equipment at an additional charge.



Grant Island lodging guests receive 20% off eligible rentals.



You will receive information about available rentals and activities after your reservation is confirmed.



GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING:



The Stabbin Cabin itself and its designated outdoor setup are private to your reservation.



Grant Island also has other separately reserved accommodations. Unless the entire island is booked, other guests may be present and certain island facilities and recreation areas are shared.

PETS:



We allow one approved dog weighing up to 20 pounds.



Please add your dog to the reservation so the current pet fee is reflected in the booking total.



A larger dog or second dog may be considered only with prior written approval. Please contact us before booking because approval is not guaranteed.



Dogs must be friendly and non-aggressive. Guests are responsible for supervising and controlling their dog throughout the stay.



The island owners have a small, friendly dog who may occasionally visit to say hello. Other guests may also have approved dogs with them.

Grant Island has several other separately booked accommodations and an on-island management residence. Unless you reserve the Entire Island listing, other guests may be staying elsewhere on the island.



The nearby dock and outdoor utility sink are shared.



BATHROOM AND SHOWER:



There is no toilet or shower inside the Stabbin Cabin.



The bathroom and shower building is approximately 4 feet from the cabin and is essentially back-to-back with it.



The facility has two separate entrances:



• One entrance for the toilet and sink room

• One entrance for the shower room



This allows the toilet area and shower to be used independently. Vacant and occupied signs are provided outside the doors.



The bathroom and shower building is shared with guests staying in:



• Stabbin Cabin #2

• The Floater Houseboat

• Waterfront Glamping



The outdoor heated rinse shower is also shared.

Exclusive use of either boat is not guaranteed because they are shared between the two Stabbin Cabins.



A main house is approximately 30 feet from the cabin and faces in the opposite direction. Please review the listing photographs and property-layout images so you understand the cabin’s location before booking.
